About the specialization:

The major in banking and financial sciences is considered one of the main majors in the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, and this specialization was opened in the college as a result of the need to prepare qualified cadres to meet the needs of the financial and banking labor market.

General objectives of the program:

Providing students with scientific and practical knowledge in the field of banking and financial sciences.

Providing various levels of applied/professional, analytical, computational, information and future self-learning knowledge and experiences to make decisions and solve financial and banking problems that face them in practice when joining various financial and banking jobs.

Developing and refining other general skills that a graduate of the Banking and Financial Sciences Program must have, such as team work, discussion and participation skills.

Leadership in ensuring the quality of graduate students from the Banking and Finance Program.

Areas of work for graduates of the Banking and Finance Program:

First: The banking sector in all its forms, including commercial and Islamic banks, exchange companies.

Second: the financial markets sector.

Third: the investment sector, including brokerage firms and investment banks.

Fourth: The insurance sector, represented by Islamic and conventional insurance companies.

Qualities of program graduates:

Apply the concepts and knowledge gained in the areas of financial and banking business.
Diagnosing and analyzing financial and banking issues and problems and proposing appropriate solutions.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting financial and banking indicators in various financial sectors.
Communicate effectively with banks, financial markets and other financial and banking parties.
Applying critical thinking skills and using analytical tools in choosing between multiple alternatives in the financial and banking market.
Work effectively individually and within collective work teams.

First: A. Knowledge and Understanding:

After successful completion of the program, the graduate will be able to:

1. Demonstrates knowledge and critical understanding of all concepts, foundations, principles and theories related to the financial and banking fields

2. Distinguish developments, trends, financial and banking relations, and mutual environmental influences between them or between them and the rest of the other business fields, functions, and organizations.

3. Demonstrates sufficient understanding of the quantitative techniques used in banking and financial work.

4. Understands professional practices and standards, as well as the governance of financial and banking activity, and the methods and methods of scientific research.

Second: the field of mental skills (B. Cognitive/ Intellectual Skills):

After successful completion of the program, the graduate will be able to:

1. Identifies and evaluates the logical data and information needed to solve financial and banking problems.

2. Analyzes financial and banking transactions and events for various financial and banking institutions.

3. Diagnose new financial and banking issues, problems, and developments, and propose appropriate solutions to address them

4. Explains banking performance indicators, financial market indicators, risks, as well as economic, financial and monetary indicators.

Third: Practical and Professional Skills:

After successful completion of the program, the graduate will be able to:

1. Apply academic concepts and theories and quantitative models in facing the practical challenges facing financial and banking institutions.

2. Prepares and presents appropriate presentations and discussions of constantly renewed financial and banking issues and developments in accordance with the method of thinking and scientific research.

3. Differentiate and choose between alternatives to markets, banks, and investment and financing tools in accordance with scientific rules and foundations.

4. Develop his general education skills related to problem-solving, discussions, and financial and banking decision-making.

Fourth: General and Transferable Skills:

After successful completion of the program, the graduate will be able to:

1. Communicates effectively with banks, financial markets, and investors from the relevant external parties, and with the rest of the employees and internal administrative levels.

2. Works effectively within the same work team and adopts leadership roles.

3 Uses modern technology in the field of various financial and banking systems and functions.

4 Abide by the regulations, laws, rules and ethics of the profession.
