The center consists of the following technical units :
• Academic Programs and Quality Assurance Unit .
• Strategic and Institutional Planning Unit .
• Measurement and Evaluation Unit .
• Training and Technical Support Unit .
• Documentation and Information Unit .
First: Academic Programs and Quality Assurance Unit
The Academic Programs and Quality Assurance Unit includes the following departments: the Quality Assurance Department, and the Institutional and Programmatic Academic Accreditation Department. It undertakes the following tasks :
• Encouraging academic departments and colleges to apply for academic accreditation .
• Working to develop a set of specifications and standards for benchmarking academic programs at the university .
• Reviewing and supporting self-evaluation plans and programs for administrative and academic units .
• Analyzing and examining self-studies implemented by departments and providing various departments, divisions, and administrative units with information and comments on their reports to develop and improve them .
• Establishing reciprocal relationships with quality assurance and accreditation bodies and organizations at the regional and international levels with the aim of exchanging experiences, consultations, and mutual recognition .
• Holding training courses and workshops for those conducting self-evaluation in departments, divisions, and administrative units .
• Assisting university departments in the necessary preparation and equipment to apply for accreditation .
Second: Strategic and Institutional Planning Unit :
The Strategic and Institutional Planning Unit includes the Planning Department and the Institutional Development Department, and its tasks are defined as follows :
• Participate in preparing strategic plans at the university level as a whole or at the level of colleges, units, and departments .
• Review the strategic plans of colleges and departments in line with the university's strategic plan .
• Provide support and advice to colleges, departments, and units in preparing and implementing operational plans .
• Disseminate the culture of administrative and institutional development and skills development among university members .
• Support the development of policies and work methods at the university and present innovative models and experiences to solve institutional problems, as well as periodic evaluation and follow-up .
• Prepare modern organizational manuals for use as references for various administrative levels, including defining duties and responsibilities between different departments .
• Develop interaction skills, dialogue methods, and effective communication with students and with the internal and external community of the university .
• Prepare the estimated budget and design training programs for staff and students .
• Follow up and evaluate the annual training plan and developments in the field of training effectiveness .
• Contribute effectively to any reports on the university and its activities .
• Prepare an annual report on the efforts of the university and its colleges regarding the levels of plan implementation and the difficulties facing implementation .
Third: The Measurement and Evaluation Unit
The Measurement and Evaluation Unit includes: the Measurement Department and the Self-Evaluation Department. Its tasks are defined as follows :
• Developing regulations and systems for improving and developing tests .
• Coordinating, organizing, and following up with the units responsible for improvement and development at the university, and proposing the necessary means, mechanisms, and initiatives for development based on evaluation results .
• Changing and developing evaluation methods and models and making appropriate amendments to them .
• Holding meetings, seminars, and workshops on evaluating academic programs and administrative systems at the university .
• Providing faculty members with the necessary expertise and mechanisms to develop their abilities to formulate questions and develop standardized tests for students .
Fourth: Documentation and Information Systems Unit
The Documentation and Information Systems Unit consists of the Archiving and Records Department and the Information and Statistics Department. Its tasks are defined as follows :
• Documenting all activities and events implemented by the Center and the University in the field of quality .
• Providing materials and software that serve the databases and updating them continuously .
• Developing the data and information entry system in the Center and facilitating related procedures .
• Following up on updating the databases of the university’s colleges .
• Providing the Center’s management with the information and statistics necessary for sound decision-making .
• Developing and updating the Center’s website and ensuring quality .
Fourth: Training and Technical Support Unit :
The Training and Technical Support Unit consists of: the Awareness and Training Department and the Technical Support Department. Its tasks are defined as follows :
• Develop awareness and training plans for the Quality Assurance Center based on a needs assessment at the university, and follow up on measuring the impact and quality of training .
• Prepare a field visit plan for technical support to the university's colleges .
• Provide technical support and implement periodic field visits to the quality assurance units at the university's colleges .
• Identify corrective actions based on quarterly visits .
• Hold training courses, workshops, and discussion groups in coordination and exchange of expertise between the Center and training units inside and outside the university .
• Develop a comprehensive training strategy based on the actual needs of all human sectors at the university and identify the training needs of faculty members, their assistants, and academic leaders at the university .
• Hold various training courses to develop faculty members' skills in the use of educational technology, information technology, and evaluation methods, and design programs and curricula .
• Prepare a training and trainer indicators guide .
• Review the design of programs and training materials .
• Study and evaluate offers and nominate companies and institutions that will be assigned to implement programs .
• Supervise training programs for students in various academic programs at the university .
Quality Units in Colleges
The tasks of the quality units in colleges are defined as follows:
• Establishing general policies to ensure quality in the college and overseeing their implementation.
• Supporting and assisting efforts made to apply quality in the college and cooperating with relevant external entities.
• Proposing programs to motivate and reward outstanding teams and individuals in applying quality in the college.
• Approving the annual report of the quality management in the college.
• Instilling the concept of quality and spreading its culture at the college level.
• Monitoring the results of performance evaluation in the college.
• Following up on the implementation processes of the academic evaluation and accreditation program in the college's programs.
• Identifying specialized training needs for faculty members in academic departments within the college and coordinating with the center's deanship.
• University development and qualitative quality in its implementation.
• Encouraging and motivating faculty members t o participate in attending courses, training programs, and workshops offered by the center as well as other entities within and outside the university.
