From Craft Threads to Smart Technology Solutions: UAE University Students Develop a Digital Platform for Professional Tailoring

In an academic showcase reflecting the high quality of educational outcomes and advanced technological capabilities of the UAE International University, the Department of Information Technology at the College of Engineering and Information Technology witnessed the discussion of the innovative graduation project, “Developing the Professional Tailor Platform.” This project was presented by a select group of students from the department as part of the requirements for obtaining their Bachelor's degrees for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The project was developed with creativity and distinction by students Ahmed Ali Mosaad Mohammed Al-Kharbi, Bashar Mohammed Abdul Latif Farhan, Nawaf Qaid Ahmed Al-Saad, and Ghali Ali Al-Hadhouri. It was supervised by Dr. Hisham Aqlan and reviewed by a distinguished academic committee comprised of Professor Dr. Farouk Al-Fahidi, Professor Dr. Jamil Rashid, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Kholani, and Dr. Hisham Aqlan.
The project reflects the high level of academic and practical training of students at the Emirates International University. The team successfully delivered a comprehensive technological solution addressing one of the most significant challenges facing tailoring shops in Yemen, particularly in Sana'a: the high volume of orders and the difficulty of managing measurements, inventory, and accounting using traditional methods.
The project involved developing a modern SaaS (Software as a Service) platform for managing tailoring shops. This platform provides a centralized control panel for managing shops and subscriptions, along with a complete operating system for each shop. This system includes customer management, order tracking, workflow, inventory, accounting, and permissions. A multi-tenant model was implemented to ensure the privacy and independence of each shop's data.
The team utilized modern technologies in the implementation, specifically ASP.NET Core. Advanced APIs and web applications were developed to cover various operational and administrative processes, demonstrating the students' ability to transform ideas into practical, scalable digital solutions that can be developed to meet market demands.
This project embodies the stimulating educational environment provided by the Emirates International University, which focuses on integrating academic learning with practical application, producing graduates with innovation and technological development skills, capable of delivering smart solutions that serve society and keep pace with digital transformation and future demands.
