“Naba’a”: Where the Light of the Quran Meets the Intelligence of Technology in a Student Project Reflecting the Excellence of Emirati University Graduates

In an academic scene embodying excellence and creativity, and reflecting the high quality of modern university education, the Information Technology Department at the Emirates International University witnessed the discussion of a distinguished graduation project entitled “The Smart Islamic Encyclopedia (Naba’a).” This integrated digital project combines a website and a smart application aimed at rebuilding the daily relationship with the Holy Quran in a modern, interactive style that blends authenticity with modern technology.
The project was presented by students Hassan Mohammed Al-Awlaqi, Saleh Mohammed Al-Saqqaf, and Uday Hamoud Al-Dhabiani, under the supervision of Dr. Farouk Al-Fahidi, Head of the Information Technology Department. It received widespread academic praise for its scientific and intellectual level.
The discussion committee consisted of a select group of specialized academics, including Professor Dr. Farouk Al-Fahidi, Professor Dr. Jamil Rashid, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Kholani, and Professor Dr. Hisham Aqlan, who commended the project's innovative concept and the advanced technical and intellectual approach presented by the student team. The “Nabaa” project comes in response to the growing need for reliable digital platforms that present the Holy Quran and its sciences in a comprehensive and organized manner, amidst the digital challenges and the accelerating pace of daily life. The platform aims to provide a holistic Quranic experience that combines reading, interpretation, learning, and daily spiritual purification within a single, interconnected digital environment, thus enhancing the presence of the Holy Quran in the user's life in a sustainable and practical way.
The project is distinguished by offering advanced technological solutions that transcend the traditional model of Quranic applications. It provides an intelligent search engine, reliable knowledge sources, measurable learning objectives, interactive tests and challenges, and organized learning aids based on precise scientific principles. This ensures a modern and profound learning experience that contributes to strengthening understanding and connection with the Holy Quran and the Arabic language.
