Student Innovation Enhances Digital Security: “ISSA” Project – Integrated Security Agent System – Discussed with Distinction and Creativity
University Media
In an academic scene reflecting the spirit of innovation and excellence, the Information Security Department at the College of Engineering and Information Technology witnessed today, Thursday, the discussion of a unique graduation project by students of the 2025-2026 academic year, entitled:
“Integrated Security Agent System (ISSA) – Design of an Integrated Security Agent System.”
The project, created by students Osama Al-Jufi, Amer Al-Matari, Haitham Al-Hazbi, Hamoud Al-Humaidah, Ayman Amin, and Suhail Al-Amashi, was supervised by Professor Dr. Jamil Rashid, with the assistance of Engineer Mohammed Al-Ashmali. Professor Dr. Malik Al-Jabri oversaw the internal discussion, amidst widespread praise for the level of presentation and innovation.
The project offers an advanced, practical model in cybersecurity, specifically designed to protect Windows-based endpoints from major digital threats, such as ransomware attacks, unauthorized file manipulation, internal misuse, and suspicious activity related to operations.
The system features a smart, lightweight, multi-threaded security agent that provides continuous monitoring and immediate response within the target device, along with a local central server that enables security policy management, data analysis, and event tracking through an advanced web-based control panel.
In an integrated framework, the system combines several layers of protection, including: file integrity monitoring, user and process behavior analysis, dynamic access control, and management and monitoring of external storage devices (USB).
This enhances proactive protection and shifts cybersecurity from a reactive to a predictive and early threat prevention phase.
Professor Jamil Rashid, Head of the Cybersecurity Department, and Professor Malek Al-Jabri praised the project's outstanding quality, emphasizing that it reflects the students' deep scientific and applied understanding and their ability to provide practical technological solutions that address modern security challenges.
This project embodies the advanced level of education the university is committed to, through its highly qualified and experienced academic staff and state-of-the-art infrastructure, including laboratories and modern technological equipment, which allows students to gain real-world practical experience that simulates a work environment.
It also reflects the university's ongoing focus on practical and field training, which enables students to translate theoretical knowledge into innovative applications and enhances their readiness to effectively enter the local and regional job market.
This achievement is not merely a graduation project; it is a clear message that the university's graduates are confidently moving towards shaping the digital future and producing qualified professionals capable of protecting systems and leading the digital transformation with efficiency and competence.
