Emirates International University Wins Second Place Among Yemeni Universities in Quran Competition (Memorization Category)

In a remarkable achievement reflecting the Emirates International University's commitment to the Holy Quran and its people, the university secured second place in the general Quran competition among Yemeni universities, winning the category for memorizing the entire Quran.

 

This achievement was attained by student Amr Mohammed Ahmed Al-Jahoushi, a second-year cybersecurity major, who excelled in the competition and secured second place among a select group of Quran memorizers from various Yemeni universities. This accomplishment reflects the academic and spiritual excellence of the university's students.

 

The competition, organized by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Sector of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, took place from the 12th to the 18th of Ramadan and was hosted by the university. Eighteen public and private universities participated, with approximately 123 male and female students competing in the categories of memorizing the entire Quran, 20 parts, 10 parts, and recitation.

 

 The Emirates International University was represented with distinction at this Quranic event by six of its memorizers: Amr Mohammed Ahmed Al-Jahoushi, Fadl Ahmed Ali Abu Hamila, Bashar Mohammed Ghaleb Rubai, Khadija Ahmed Ali Al-Jabri, and Luli Aref Jaafar Baqatian, in addition to student Abdullah Zaid Abdullah Awass in the recitation category. They competed with high faith and sincere determination, reflecting the university's commitment to nurturing Quranic talent and promoting programs that contribute to the students' intellectual and spiritual development.

 

The closing and awards ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Hatem Al-Duais, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, the Director General of Activities at the Ministry, the President of 21 September University, and a number of other university presidents and academic leaders. During the ceremony, several speeches were delivered praising the high level of Quranic competition among the students and emphasizing the importance of such events in strengthening faith-based values and fostering a connection between university students and the Holy Quran.

 

 At the conclusion of the ceremony, the winners of the top prizes were honored with commemorative shields and monetary awards, in a celebration befitting those who have memorized the Book of God, and in recognition of their blessed efforts in serving the Holy Quran.

 

This achievement is a significant addition to the record of accomplishments of the Emirates International University, and it underscores its commitment to nurturing its outstanding students in various fields. The university believes that it is not only a beacon of science and knowledge, but also a comprehensive environment for cultivating well-rounded individuals, both academically and morally, who combine academic excellence with spiritual elevation.
