Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Khaled Ahmed Salah, President of the University, and under the slogan: "Together Towards a Digital Identity that Keeps Pace with Excellence and Supports the University's Regional and International Standing," the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, in cooperation with the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, organized a specialized workshop this morning, Tuesday, February 17, 2026, entitled: "Utilizing Research Platforms to Enhance the University's Ranking in International Classifications." The workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Malek Al-Jabri, Head of the Publishing and Scientific Research Department at the University.

The workshop was opened by the University President, Professor Dr. Khaled Ahmed Salah, who emphasized that digital transformation in scientific research is no longer an option, but a strategic necessity to enhance the University's presence in the regional and international academic landscape. He pointed out that building a unified digital research identity for the University's affiliates represents the cornerstone of the journey towards institutional excellence and academic accreditation.

The Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, delivered a speech explaining that the workshop is part of a comprehensive plan to support the quality of scientific output, increase publication and citation rates, and enhance researchers' readiness to meet the requirements of publishing in internationally peer-reviewed and indexed journals.

The workshop was attended by the Secretary-General, Engineer Mohammed Abbas, along with deans of colleges, heads of departments, faculty members, and a number of graduate students, reflecting an institutional awareness of the importance of a digital research presence and its role in improving the university's reputation and global ranking.

During the workshop, Professor Dr. Malek Al-Jabri provided intensive practical training on the mechanisms for creating and managing a digital research identity, with direct applications on leading global platforms such as ORCID for managing research identity and linking scientific output to a unified identifier, ResearchGate for academic communication and research sharing, Web of Science for analyzing citations and scientific impact indicators, and Scopus as a global database for advanced research and tracking scientific output.

The workshop emphasized the importance of: strengthening researchers' digital identities and linking their work to a unified, internationally recognized identifier; enhancing the quality of scientific research by developing exploration, analysis, and documentation skills; increasing internationally indexed research accurately attributed to the university; improving research performance indicators and increasing citation rates; and supporting academic accreditation, quality assurance, and research governance requirements.

The workshop aimed to empower faculty members, graduate students, and research unit heads to build a strong digital research identity, efficiently manage their academic accounts, utilize global databases to prepare accurate scientific reviews, and select appropriate journals for publication to enhance scientific impact and international reach.

This workshop aligns with the vision of the Emirates International University to build an advanced research environment that meets global standards, elevates the level of scientific output, and opens broad horizons for collaboration and research partnerships with international universities and centers.
