As part of the strategic partnership between the Emirates International University and Experts and Consultants Foundation, and under the patronage of the University President, Dr. Khaled Ahmed Salah, the Emirates International University launched its first free eye health camp today, Saturday. The camp is dedicated to its students, faculty, and administrative staff, reflecting the university's ongoing commitment to promoting health awareness and enhancing the quality of life within the university community.
The camp's activities were inaugurated by the University's Vice President, Dr. Ahmed Al-Badani, in the presence of several heads of academic departments. This underscores the university leadership's commitment to supporting health and community initiatives that benefit students and staff.
During the inauguration, the Vice President emphasized that organizing this camp reflects the Emirates International University's dedication to expanding its effective partnerships with specialized institutions and leveraging them to serve the university community. He noted that the health of students and staff is a fundamental element in creating a stable and stimulating learning environment conducive to achievement and excellence. He also explained that the university places special importance on health and, through these initiatives, seeks to instill a culture of prevention and early detection, contributing to raising health awareness and embodying its mission of combining responsible education with community service.
The camp aims to provide accurate and free eye examinations, along with specialized medical consultations from a qualified medical team from Samaa France Optics and Hearing Group. Using the latest equipment and technologies in the field of optometry, the camp contributes to the early detection of vision problems and promotes eye health care.
The camp also offers participants additional benefits, including special discounts on a selection of eyeglasses, free eyeglass maintenance services, and the resumption of the use of cooperative health insurance cards. These cards enable cardholders to receive free consultations and significantly reduced rates on examinations, in addition to some free treatments available at the institution.
Organizing this camp aligns with the university's vision of combining academic excellence with social responsibility and its commitment to providing a healthy and safe university environment that supports students and staff in their academic and professional journeys. The camp activities at the university are scheduled to continue until February 11, 2027. The university encourages all its members to take advantage of this health initiative and participate in promoting a culture of regular eye examinations.
