The Deanship of Graduate Studies Discusses a Master's Thesis Proposal on the Role of Organizational Culture in Enhancing Cybersecurity Standards

The Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the Emirates International University discussed on Tuesday a master's thesis seminar proposal in the Business Administration program, submitted by researcher Amin Ahmed Ali Hussein Idris, entitled: “The Role of Organizational Culture in Implementing Cybersecurity Standards at the Yemeni-Omani United Telecommunications Company (YOU) – Sana'a Governorate.” This discussion aligns with the university's commitment to supporting applied research related to digital transformation and information security.
The discussion was attended by the university president, Professor Dr. Khaled Ahmed Salah, who emphasized in his remarks the importance of directing scientific research to address critical issues facing national institutions. He pointed out that cybersecurity is no longer merely a technical option, but has become an integrated organizational culture linked to leadership, governance, and human resource awareness, as reflected in the thesis topic and its practical dimensions.
The research plan addressed the relationship between organizational culture and the level of commitment to implementing cybersecurity standards within telecommunications companies, focusing on the company (YOU) as a real-world case study. This contributes to providing applicable scientific results that serve decision-makers and support the sustainability of institutional performance in digital work environments.
The thesis was supervised by Dr. Jabr Abdul Qawi Al-Sunbani, Professor of Business Administration at the Emirates International University. During his intervention, he explained that the research is distinguished by the novelty of its topic and its direct relevance to contemporary business management challenges. He emphasized his commitment to guiding the researcher towards building a sound scientific and methodological framework that combines theory and practice.
The discussion committee was chaired by Dr. Mohammed Al-Kahali and included Dr. Najib Al-Bashari from the University of Science and Technology as an external examiner, Dr. Fahmi Al-Daqaf, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Rahbi. The committee discussed the plan's themes, research questions, and methodological tools, and offered several scientific observations that will enrich the thesis and enhance its academic quality.
The head of the discussion committee, Dr. Mohammed Al-Kahali, praised the importance of the topic and its relevance to the realities of service institutions, considering the research a valuable addition to business administration research in the field of cybersecurity. The external examiner expressed his admiration for the high level of scientific rigor and methodological clarity, commending the choice of topic and its precision.
At the conclusion of the discussion, the seminar committee unanimously praised the researcher's plan, appreciating his seriousness and the clarity of his research vision. They affirmed that the thesis possesses promising scientific and applied potential that contributes to supporting the institutional work environment and enhancing the cybersecurity culture in the telecommunications sector.
