In line with its academic and humanitarian mission, and as part of its strategic direction to strengthen partnerships with community institutions, Emirates International University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation and partnership with Abni Autism Center on Wednesday. This significant step reflects both parties' commitment to serving the community and supporting the most vulnerable groups, particularly those with autism spectrum disorder.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the university by Professor Dr. Khaled Ahmed Salah, President of the University, who emphasized that this partnership represents an extension of the university's role in bridging the gap between university education and scientific research on the one hand, and the needs of society and humanity on the other. He noted that through this agreement, the university seeks to utilize its academic and human resources to serve causes with humanitarian and scientific impact, contributing to the development of qualified professionals with both knowledge and a sense of social responsibility.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Abni Autism Center by its Director General, Engineer Samir Mohammed Al-Barawi, who expressed his pride in this partnership with the Emirates International University. He emphasized that the memorandum will open broad horizons for cooperation in the fields of training, research, and awareness, and will contribute to the development of rehabilitation and scientific programs related to autism spectrum disorder, positively impacting the quality of services provided to children and their families.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the University, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, and the Dean of the Development and Quality Assurance Center, Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, in an atmosphere that reflected the spirit of integration and harmony between the two parties.
The memorandum of understanding aims to build joint cooperation in training, research, and community service, implement scientific and awareness programs and activities, provide field training opportunities for university students, and support scientific research and graduation projects related to autism issues. This will enhance the integration between the academic and applied aspects and serve the needs of the community.
This step affirms the Emirates International University's belief in the importance of community partnerships and their role in contributing to human and scientific development, promoting human values, and building effective collaborative models with civil society organizations and various community institutions, thereby achieving a sustainable impact in serving the nation and its people.
