Today, Monday, the University's Center for Development and Quality Assurance organized a workshop on self-evaluation in accordance with the Guide to Program Accreditation Standards issued by the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council. At the opening of the workshop, Prof. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, President of the University, explained the importance of holding such workshops aimed at introducing self-evaluation tools and promoting a culture of development and quality in academic performance among university employees, as a step to assess the institution itself, identify strengths and weaknesses, if any, and improve them through Analyzing self-assessment tools in a way that contributes to raising the level of the educational process and improving the quality of outputs, with the full support of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Board, Mr. Sultan bin Obaid Al-Shaya. The workshop was carried out by Dr. Sharaf Abdul-Haq Al-Hamdi, Acting Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance at the university, member of the Committee for the Preparation of Program Accreditation Standards. The criteria for program accreditation prepared by the Academic Accreditation Council, the self-evaluation mechanism, its principles, objectives, basics, and requirements were reviewed. He also explained how to analyze the tools for studying the programmatic self-assessment manual and how to identify strengths, weaknesses and improvement advantages in a way that contributes to raising the level of the educational process and improving the quality of outputs. The workshop, which started at 11 am to 3 pm, included a detailed explanation of the program accreditation standards guide, followed by training participants to analyze the measurement tools that are supposed to be used in the self-evaluation of academic programs. The workshop concluded with a set of recommendations from the formation of self-evaluation committees for all university programs According to a chronic implementation plan and others.
