The Emirates International University in Sana'a organized the closing ceremony for the annual Martyr's Day commemoration on Monday, Jumada al-Ula 27, 1447 AH (November 17, 2025), honoring the families of martyrs from among the university's staff under the slogan "The Martyrs' Sacrifices Have Yielded Glory and Victory."
This year's Martyr's Day activities included awareness seminars in all university colleges about the greatness of the martyrs and their sacrifices for the sake of God and in defense of the nation's honor and dignity. University leaders and staff also visited the Martyrs' Cemetery and the shrine and exhibition of Al-Samad, Al-Ghamari, Al-Rahawi, and their companions in Al-Sabeen Square. An exhibition and displays of the martyrs were also opened at the university, and their families from among the university's staff were honored.
At the closing ceremony, Dr. Khaled Salah, President of the Emirates International University, emphasized the importance of commemorating the martyrs' anniversary to immortalize their memory and their enduring legacy, which will remain a guiding light for future generations. He stressed the need to learn from their example, follow in their footsteps, and embody the values and principles for which they sacrificed their lives.
He noted that this year's commemoration comes at a time when the country, the Arab world, and the wider region are experiencing extraordinary circumstances. This necessitates that the nation recall the heroic deeds of the great martyrs on the path to Jerusalem and prepare to confront the Zionist project and its expansionist plans.
Dr. Salah further pointed out that the blood of these great martyrs, at this critical juncture—beginning with the founding leader of the Quranic movement, and continuing through the procession of martyrs chosen by God and brought close to Him as they confronted and fought against the forces of disbelief, tyranny, global arrogance, and their regional proxies—has yielded a heroic Yemeni stance in support of the Palestinian people across various fields.
The university president addressed the high status and position of martyrs in the eyes of God, who honored them with eternal life, banished death from their lives, and made them alive with their Lord, receiving sustenance and rejoicing in His bounty. He placed them on par with prophets and the righteous, and affirmed that the ultimate reward belongs to the pious. He noted that the fruits of these sacrifices have yielded glory, victory, strength, empowerment, and great conquests commensurate with the sacrifices made.
He called for the necessity of caring for the families and relatives of martyrs, who deserve respect, appreciation, and care from everyone, each according to their specialization and capabilities. Those who gave their lives for the sake of the nation, religion, and dignity deserve, especially, the generosity, kindness, care, and attention of the entire community.
Two speeches were delivered, one by Dr. Khaled Deifallah and the other by Abdul Majeed Hazeb on behalf of the families of the martyrs. These speeches reviewed the events and activities organized by the university to commemorate the anniversary of the martyrs, emphasizing the importance of observing this momentous occasion and making it a platform for raising awareness, mobilizing support, and recalling the lessons and heroic stances for which the great martyrs sacrificed their lives in the pursuit of truth and the defense of the homeland, its security, and its independence.
They affirmed that the security, tranquility, dignity, and unparalleled strength the country enjoys in support of the Palestinian cause and the plight of Gaza are a result of the culture of jihad and martyrdom, and thanks to the blood of the martyrs, after God Almighty. They stressed the necessity of remaining loyal to the martyrs and following the path they paved with their pure blood, the path to liberating Jerusalem and freeing the land from the defilement of invaders and occupiers.
Dhaifallah and Hazeb emphasized the importance of everyone drawing inspiration from this occasion to give generously and care for the families, children, and relatives of martyrs, given that these families contributed to laying the foundations of pride, dignity, and glory for the people and the nation.
The event, attended by the Executive Director of the Information Technology Center, Dr. Fouad Hassan Abdul Razzaq, the Vice President of the University, Dr. Ahmed Al-Baadani, the Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Fouad Hanash, the Mujahid Professor Abu Hussein Hamdan, deans of colleges, the university's academic and administrative staff, the head of activities and mobilization, a group of students, and the families and relatives of martyrs, included a poem entitled "Towards Jerusalem," and a jihadist chant entitled "The Holiest Field," dedicated to the martyr Al-Ghamari and performed by Rashad Al-Khazan. This was followed by honoring the families and relatives of martyrs affiliated with the university.
