The College of Dentistry at the International University of the Emirates launched its Internship Program for the eighth batch of students for the academic year 1447 AH (1997 A.H.) on Saturday. The program was attended by Dr. Alhaitham Alkameem, Internship Program Officer; Dr. Azal Atef, College Academic Coordinator; and Dr. Nayba Rajeh, College Teaching Assistant. This step paves the way for a scientific and practical year filled with experience and knowledge.
The program will last for twelve consecutive months, during which 100 male and female students will train according to an approved clinical training plan. This will enable them to acquire the clinical and practical skills that will qualify them to practice the profession with confidence and competence, in accordance with the latest academic standards in dental programs.
During the launch, Dr. Al Haitham Al Kumaim, Program Manager for the Internship Program, welcomed the students and emphasized that this program represents a pivotal stage in their professional careers, translating their theoretical knowledge into practical field practice. This will contribute to refining their professional character and developing their clinical capabilities.
The program will include several scientific activities, including a scientific week featuring discussion panels and specialized workshops, in addition to accompanying training courses such as the Rotary Course in Root Canal Therapy, along with clinical assessment sessions and practical applications supervised by specialized professors.
The launch of the program is part of the Emirates International University's strategy to enhance the quality of applied medical education and prepare qualified personnel who effectively contribute to the development of the health sector and community service.
