The Training and Qualification Center at the Emirates International University launched an advanced training course in the maintenance and operation of diagnostic radiology equipment on Sunday, August 17, 2025. The course is designed for third- and fourth-level Medical Equipment Engineering students. The course was attended by Engineer Fathi Salman, Head of the Training and Qualification Center.

The course, which runs over five training days and totals 10 hours, is presented by Engineer Mohammed Mufid Qaradi. The course aims to provide students with advanced knowledge about X-ray machines and their components, with a focus on combining theory with practical application to enhance their professional capabilities and connect them to the requirements of the labor market.

The course includes:

An introduction to the basic principles of X-rays and their importance in diagnosis and treatment.

An introduction to the internal components of the devices, such as the X-ray tube, control unit, high-voltage generator, filters, and protection devices.

Intensive practical training on several advanced devices, including a French-made 100 mA X-ray machine, a Philips 300 mA X-ray machine, dental X-ray machines, and mammography machines. Students will be trained to open tubes, examine their components, diagnose malfunctions, and repair them.

Students will also receive practical training in inspection and repair, including diagnosing control and tube malfunctions, efficiently restarting devices, and applying safety and prevention procedures when handling high voltages and reducing radiation risks.

The course also aims to enable students to diagnose and repair malfunctions with high efficiency, enhance their practical skills in inspecting and operating X-ray machines, and prepare them for the job market with specialized field experience in one of the most important fields of medical equipment.
