As part of strengthening the partnership between the academic and banking sectors, the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences at the Emirates International University organized a specialized scientific symposium this Monday morning entitled "Electronic Banking and Financial Inclusion: Reality and Challenges." The symposium was held in partnership with CAC Bank, one of the most prominent national banks in the Republic of Yemen.

 

 The symposium was attended by a distinguished group of university leaders, including Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Mohammed Al-Kahali, Dean of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences; Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance; Dr. Abdullah Al-Qurashi, Dean of Graduate Studies and Head of the Department of International Business Administration; Dr. Fahmi Al-Daqqaf, Head of the Department of Accounting, Finance, and Banking; Dr. Mohammed Al-Rahbi, Academic Advisor at the College; Hazem Al-Marouni, Service Points Manager at the Mobile Money Wallet; and Qaed Al-Araj, Head of the Electronic Money Services Unit. The symposium also featured a select group of academics, banking leaders from CAC Bank, and a number of college students from various disciplines.

 

In his opening remarks, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, emphasized the importance of linking academics with practical reality, noting that such symposia contribute to enhancing students' awareness of the latest trends in the world of finance and business, especially in light of the rapid developments in the field of financial technology.

 

 Speakers from CAC Bank addressed several topics, most notably: digital transformation in Yemeni banks, the role of e-banking in promoting financial inclusion, and the technical and legislative challenges facing this sector. They also reviewed real-life experiences and innovative banking solutions that seek to expand the base of beneficiaries of financial services.

 

For his part, the Dean of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences expressed his happiness with the partnership with CAC Bank, emphasizing that the college always strives to organize quality events that contribute to enriching students' knowledge and broadening their practical and professional horizons.

 

The symposium witnessed remarkable interaction from students, who raised valuable questions and contributions, reflecting their interest and awareness of the importance of digital transformation in the banking sector and its role in supporting the national economy.
