University Media
In an academic atmosphere brimming with enthusiasm and creativity, the College of Engineering and Information Technology at the Emirates International University witnessed the submission of projects by first-year Architecture students this Monday morning. This course is one of the foundational courses that lays the foundation for shaping the professional architect. The project was supervised by Dr. Shura Al Awadhi, the course instructor, and Engineer Aseel Al Khadrani, a teaching assistant.
The submitted projects reflected the students' understanding of basic architectural concepts, their skills in employing design elements, and their ability to express their creative ideas using freehand drawing, manual models, and digital models. The projects ranged from simple designs for open spaces to architectural models that reflect their understanding of aesthetic, functional, and environmental dimensions.
This achievement is a vivid example of the quality education provided by the Emirates International University to its students, through modern curricula, qualified faculty members, and a modern learning environment that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application. These elements have enabled students to express their design ideas professionally, even at the early levels of study, reflecting a deep understanding and effective academic training.
The presentation process included a detailed project presentation by the students themselves. Each student explained their project concept, the steps they followed, and the challenges they faced during implementation. The presentations also featured open discussions between students and faculty, providing a rich learning space to stimulate critical thinking and exchange of ideas.
The students expressed their pride in this experience, which they described as "a rich and inspiring educational experience," confirming that they are on the right path toward architectural excellence, driven by effective academic support and an ambitious institutional vision.
This step comes within the framework of the College of Engineering and Information Technology's commitment to developing its students' practical skills from the early levels, linking theoretical aspects with practical application. This aligns with the university's vision of preparing innovative engineering talents capable of contributing to building Yemen's urban future.
