“Highlights of Quality and Development”: Emirates International University Establishes a Culture of Excellence and Quality in its University Environment

In a move reflecting its ambitious vision for institutional excellence and continuous improvement in academic and administrative performance, Emirates International University, represented by its Center for Development and Quality Assurance, has published the first issue of its periodical, “Highlights of Quality and Development,” under the slogan: “Quality is a Culture… and Development is a Practice.” This reaffirms that building leading universities begins with establishing quality concepts and transforming them into daily institutional practices that are reflected in educational outcomes and community service.
This high-quality publication comes with the direct support and attention of the university leadership, represented by the university president, Professor Dr. Khaled Ahmed Salah, who emphasized in his address that quality is not merely an administrative requirement or a temporary goal, but rather an integrated institutional culture built through awareness and action, and translated into effective performance and tangible results. He stressed the university administration’s full commitment to supporting development and quality assurance initiatives and fostering a university environment based on creativity and continuous improvement.
The university president called upon all members of the university community—academic and administrative leaders, faculty members, and students—to engage positively with the newsletter and contribute to cultivating a culture of quality, considering it a shared responsibility and a foundation for achieving leadership and academic accreditation locally, regionally, and internationally.
The first issue of the newsletter included a comprehensive overview of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, its vision, mission, and strategic directions. It also reviewed the most prominent development projects and programs implemented by the center during the past period, including the development of strategic and operational plans, support for the description of academic programs and courses, monitoring of academic accreditation requirements, implementation of measurement and evaluation activities, and the preparation of regulations, guidelines, and organizational models that contribute to raising the efficiency of institutional performance and enhancing the quality of the educational process.
This publication represents an important knowledge and awareness resource for university members, as it highlights quality and development efforts within the university and helps build a culture of quality among faculty, staff, and students, enabling them to understand their roles in the continuous improvement process and strengthen their commitment to modern academic and professional standards.
For his part, Professor Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, affirmed that the launch of the newsletter is part of the Center's efforts to enhance communication with the various colleges and units of the university, document achievements, and raise awareness of quality and development concepts. This supports the university's direction towards building a modern university model based on efficiency, excellence, and academic accreditation.
He added that "Quality and Development Insights" will be an ongoing knowledge platform that contributes to disseminating best institutional practices and stimulating the academic and administrative work environment towards greater creativity and development. He called on all members of the university community to review the newsletter and benefit from its high-quality topics and information, which contribute to transforming quality into a firmly established practice in daily university life.
