In an academic scene brimming with pride and ambition, the College of Engineering and Information Technology launched its graduation project discussions for the academic year 1447 AH (2025-2026 CE) on Thursday, marking the beginning of a crucial phase that culminates the students' efforts and showcases high-quality educational outcomes reflecting the college's level of excellence.

The launch event was attended by Dr. Ahmed Al-Badani, Vice President of the University, and Dr. Ibrahim Fara'a, Dean of the College. In their speeches, they emphasized that the project discussions represent the true fruit of integrated academic efforts and reflect the university's commitment to preparing qualified graduates capable of competing and innovating in the job market. They commended the quality of the project presented by the two students, congratulated the college's students on launching their graduation projects, and affirmed the university's continued support for scientific research and innovation.

On the first day, a remarkable and innovative graduation project in the Information Security specialization was discussed. Presented by students Maha Al-Aswad and Jumana Al-Wajih, under the supervision of Dr. Jamil Hamza and with the assistance of Engineer Muhannad Al-Mashriqi, the project's title reflects a contemporary challenge: a social media account verification system using artificial intelligence and blockchain technology.

This project represents an advanced model of smart technological solutions, addressing one of the most prominent digital challenges of the modern era: the proliferation of fake accounts and identity theft on social media platforms, and the resulting threats to privacy, security, and digital trust.

The developed system relies on integrating artificial intelligence technologies to analyze account characteristics and detect patterns associated with fake accounts. It gathers various data points about the account, which are then subjected to a precise classification process by an intelligent model that determines whether the account is real or fake. If the account's authenticity is confirmed, its concise data is documented using blockchain technology, ensuring its protection from manipulation and preventing its future exploitation in identity theft. This represents a significant leap forward in enhancing digital security. The project received widespread praise from attendees for reflecting the students' high level of technical awareness and their ability to provide innovative and applicable solutions that address global digital challenges.

The discussion was also attended by a distinguished group of academic leaders, including Dr. Jamil Rashid, Head of the Cybersecurity Department; Dr. Radwan Al-Badhiji, Head of the Mechatronics Engineering Department; Dr. Hani Damaj, Head of the Chemical Engineering Department; Dr. Mohammed Al-Alfi, Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department; Dr. Malek Al-Jabri, faculty member and academic coordinator for the Cybersecurity Department; Engineer Alia Al-Arasi; and several other faculty and administrative staff members.

The graduation project discussions are scheduled to continue in the coming days, encompassing various departments within the college. This comprehensive scientific presentation reflects the diversity of specializations and the richness of ideas, confirming that the college's graduates are no longer merely graduation projects, but rather platforms for launching innovative solutions that contribute to serving the community and building a more advanced and sustainable future.

These events reaffirm that the College of Engineering and Information Technology is confidently moving towards establishing itself as a nurturing environment for creativity and innovation, and a source for developing minds capable of leading digital transformation and making a difference.
