Discussing the graduation projects of the first batch of the Civil Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering at the university

In the presence of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Khalil Al-Wajeeh, the Civil Engineering Department of the College of Engineering and Information Technology at the Emirates International University discussed today, Saturday, the graduation projects of the first batch of graduates from the department. Where the projects submitted by two groups of students were discussed, and the first group project was "Inclined Columns", which is the first comprehensive project in the study of tilted columns in their structural behavior in analysis and design and their effects on structural systems. Inclined columns were used in the four corners of a commercial investment facility 65 meters high by 19 floors and an area of 1550 square meters (35 bricks), and the facility was developed to be resistant to earthquakes and the loads that may be exposed to the facility. The project was presented by the students: Assem Muhammad Al-Zaqari, Abdullah Al-Bashir, Ammar Al-Waqidi, Ammar Al-Saidi, and Muhammad Fawzy Alaya, and it was supervised by Dr. Suleiman Ismail Al-Safi and Engineer Salah Al-Dahhan. As for the second project, it is a 17-storey residential commercial facility designed using the latest construction programs and methods designed to resist earthquakes and the loads that the facility may be exposed to. The project was presented by the students: Abdul Rahman Al-Nashy, Adel Al-Radai, Abdullah Al-Salami, Abdul-Majid Rajeh, and Kamal Mansour. And the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Al-Wazaf and Engineer Salah Al-Dahhan. The Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Khalil Al-Wajeeh, praised the graduation projects submitted by the students, which he considered qualitative and distinguished, reflecting the advanced level of education and practical and field training that the students received during the years of study. The Dean of the College extended his thanks and appreciation to the project supervisors and the batch students, wishing them continued success and excellence. The discussion was attended by the head of the Mechatronics Department, Dr. Hatem Al-Dais, the head of the Oil and Gas Engineering Department, Dr. Ibrahim Farea, a number of faculty members and their assistants at the college, and a number of university students.
