The President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, and the head of the Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority, Eng. Nasr Ali Al-Hamidi, honored the students participating in the training course in computer applications used in petroleum operations, which was organized by the university in partnership with the Authority’s Data Bank project over a period of five days for students of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering Level IV at the university. During the honoring, the President of the University, Dr. Najeeb Al-Kumaim, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the leadership of the authority and those in charge of the project to develop the data bank for their distinguished role and effective contribution to supporting the educational process by providing the opportunity for students of the oil and gas engineering department at the university for training and application and transferring the expertise of the authority and its cadre to our students to provide them with practical skills and experience. Dr. Najib Al-Kumaim stressed the university's keenness to open channels of communication with the relevant authorities and build partnership and cooperation relations to achieve integration between the educational sector and the training sector, to train university students, since training and practical application are among the basic educational means, especially in this field. He praised the efforts of the Dean of the College and the Department Head to coordinate the training course. For his part, Eng. Nasr Ali Al-Hamidi, Chairman of the Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority, expressed his happiness for the visit of the university team headed by the university president, the dean of the College of Engineering and the head of the Oil and Gas Engineering Department, and their supervision, follow-up and interest in their students, stressing the authority’s readiness to provide all facilities for training students of the Oil and Gas Engineering Department at the university, and to provide all information Necessary for student graduation projects and research in this field. The President of the University honored the Oil Exploration and Production Authority, represented by its president, with the UAE University Shield, as well as honoring the Chairman of the Authority and the Director General of the Data Bank Development Project with certificates of thanks and appreciation. The president of the commission honored the university represented by the university president and the dean of the college with the shield of the commission. After that, the students participating in the course were honored with certificates of participation. The head of the authority had given a closing lecture on the sidelines of the session in which he reviewed the authority's tasks and the history of Yemeni activity in exploration and production, the oil industry and drilling, and the project to develop the oil data bank. The honoring was attended by Dr. Hatem Al-Duais, Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, and Dr. Ibrahim Ali Farea, Head of the Oil and Gas Engineering Department. The honoring was also attended by the Director General of the Information Bank, Eng. Muhammad Ali Hadi, and a number of the staff of the Information Bank and the Authority’s development project.
