In an academic setting reflecting the spirit of engineering creativity and scientific excellence, the Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering and Information Technology at Emirates International University witnessed the discussion of a unique graduation project entitled "YH Residential Tower." The project was presented by a select group of students from the department, demonstrating an advanced level of engineering competence and modern applied knowledge.

The project was prepared by students: Mahnoon Ahmed Al-Qoud, Yousef Muqbel Ziad, and Omar Mohammed Hazza, under the supervision of Dr. Ibrahim Al-Amri and the review of Dr. Suleiman Al-Safi. The discussion committee consisted of: Dr. Ibrahim Al-Amri – Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. Suleiman Al-Safi, and Engineer Saddam Hussein.

The YH Residential Tower project is a comprehensive engineering model for a modern urban development project. It features the design of a 15-story residential tower, earthquake-resistant according to the latest technical and construction standards, thus achieving the concepts of quality, safety, sustainability, and functional efficiency simultaneously.

The project was distinguished by its professional engineering approach, encompassing the fundamentals of structural design for mixed-system structures, relying on specialized shear walls and moment frames. It also incorporated advanced seismic analysis techniques for regular structures, reflecting the high level of academic and practical training of the university's students.

Furthermore, the project comprehensively addressed the essential technical requirements for structural engineers in the areas of studies, designs, auditing, execution, and technical supervision. It serves as an Arabic-language engineering reference, supporting engineers and civil and architectural engineering students and enriching Arabic engineering content with a simplified and modern scientific approach.

The discussion committee affirmed that the project demonstrates the students' exceptional ability to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical application, and their mastery of modern engineering standards and codes. This enhances their professional readiness to compete in the job market and contribute to building a more advanced urban future.

This project is an extension of the Emirates International University's approach to supporting high-quality projects and academic innovations, and to establishing a modern educational environment that produces engineering graduates capable of creativity, leadership, and active contribution to the development and progress of the nation.
