In an academic setting reflecting an advanced level of applied education and digital innovation, students from the Information Technology Department at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology discussed a unique graduation project entitled “My Heritage.” This smart application for marketing traditional Yemeni products was designed as a modern digital platform to support local artisans and preserve Yemeni cultural identity in the digital age.

The project embodies the high-quality output that the university is committed to providing, by transforming academic ideas into practical technological solutions that address community needs and contribute to economic and cultural development.

The project was prepared by students: Aya Mutahhar Al-Shami, Asmaa Mohammed Al-Shami, Malak Mohammed Al-Muqri, and Nasreen Abdullah Al-Hazmi, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Al-Kholani.

The “My Heritage” application aims to create an integrated online marketplace that directly connects Yemeni artisans with consumers, thereby expanding the reach of Yemeni heritage products such as silverware, daggers, honey, and traditional textiles, and overcoming the challenges of traditional marketing and the limited digital presence of these products.

The system also provides smart tools for managing sales, inventory, and order tracking, within a modern and secure user experience that empowers sellers, buyers, and system administrators with advanced permissions tailored to each user's needs.

Technically, the project reflects a high level of professionalism in software development. The application was developed using the Flutter framework to create a multi-platform application, employing Supabase for database management and cloud services, along with an advanced security system based on Row Level Security (RLS) technology to ensure data protection and highly efficient access control.

This project underscores the university's commitment to not only providing traditional academic knowledge but also cultivating a skilled technical workforce capable of innovation and delivering digital solutions that serve the community and preserve national identity with a modern approach that keeps pace with the global digital transformation.

“My Heritage” is an inspiring model of graduation projects that combines technology, entrepreneurship, and cultural identity, clearly reflecting the quality of university education and its ability to graduate young talents with intellect, skills, and a future vision.
