In a demonstration of its unwavering commitment to academic and institutional excellence, the Executive Council of the Development and Quality Assurance Center at the Emirates International University held its third periodic meeting for the 2025-2026 academic year on Monday morning, May 4, 2026. The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Sharaf Abdulhaq Al-Hamdi, Dean of the Center, and attended by council members and quality representatives from various university colleges.
This meeting was an extension of the university's vision, which makes quality a strategic axis guiding all its educational and administrative operations. Quality forms the true foundation for the excellence of its academic programs and educational outcomes, thus enhancing its presence in the academic landscape both locally and regionally.
The council began its proceedings by reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting, approving the recommendations, and emphasizing the importance of completing the implementation of unified academic plans according to precise timelines. This ensures integration between planning, implementation, and evaluation, and enhances the efficiency of institutional performance.
In a move reflecting the development of the academic system, the council discussed the preparation of operational plans for study programs. An improved operational plan model was adopted after incorporating qualitative enhancements, contributing to linking learning outcomes with labor market needs and enhancing graduates' readiness to compete in modern work environments.
The meeting also addressed the follow-up on course reports, emphasizing the importance of adhering to course descriptions and completing reports according to quality standards, as these are essential tools for ensuring continuous improvement and raising the efficiency of the educational process.
Within the framework of establishing a participatory quality culture, the council discussed the program for engaging students in the evaluation process, commending the students' positive interaction and affirming that empowering them as partners in development is one of the most prominent features of modern education. It was agreed to organize an official ceremony to honor the participants and award them certificates and identification cards, reinforcing their role in disseminating a culture of quality within the university community.
The council also reviewed the first issue of the Quality Bulletin, which was adopted as a starting point for spreading institutional awareness of quality and development concepts. The council directed the commencement of work on the second issue, reflecting the ongoing efforts to build a knowledge-based environment founded on excellence and innovation.
The meeting did not overlook the importance of supporting quality initiatives. The Council emphasized the need to develop and implement organizational models for these initiatives at the university level, thereby opening broader horizons for institutional innovation and enhancing active participation in performance improvement.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Executive Council reaffirmed that quality is not a temporary measure, but rather a deeply rooted culture within all aspects of the Emirates International University. This culture is reflected in its academic programs, administrative practices, and educational outcomes, thus solidifying its position as a leading educational environment that continuously strives to prepare graduates capable of meeting future challenges and making a real impact in the job market.
