In an academic scene reflecting ambition and innovation, Emirates International University witnessed today, Sunday, the discussion of a unique graduation project by students from the International Business Administration Department at the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences. The project, titled "The Role of Administrative Creativity in Achieving Competitive Advantage – A Case Study of Emirates International University," was presented as part of the requirements for obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
The project, prepared by students Nasreen Radwan Al-Sunbani, Ikram Mohammed Al-Ramah, and Mona Ali Mohammed, under the supervision of Dr. Jabr Al-Sunbani, embodies an advanced scientific awareness of the importance of shifting from traditional administrative models to spaces of creativity and innovation as a strategic choice to ensure continuity and excellence in the changing environment of higher education.
The study delved deeply into the pivotal role that administrative creativity plays in enhancing competitive advantage within educational institutions. It stemmed from a real-world problem: the escalating challenges facing universities and the urgent need to adopt innovative methods that keep pace with modern transformations.
The study focused on analyzing the impact of the dimensions of administrative creativity—namely, originality, flexibility, fluency, and problem sensitivity—on achieving the dimensions of competitive advantage: quality, cost, and innovation.
The study employed a descriptive-analytical approach, utilizing a scientific questionnaire distributed to a sample of academic and administrative staff at the university. The data was analyzed using modern statistical methods to measure the relationship between administrative creativity and competitive advantage.
The results demonstrated a strong and statistically significant correlation between adopting administrative creativity practices and improving the university's competitive performance. Originality and flexibility emerged as crucial factors in providing high-quality educational services that are difficult to imitate.
To further support these findings, the study recommended the following: fostering a culture of innovation within the university environment; providing both material and moral support to innovators; and employing modern technologies to reduce costs and enhance the quality of educational outcomes.
The discussion committee comprised a distinguished group of academic leaders, including Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Kahali, Dean of the College; Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Qurashi, Head of the Department of International Business Administration; and Professor Dr. Jabr Al-Sunbani, Head of the Department of Business Administration. The committee commended the project's outstanding academic level and its profound methodological approach, which reflects the promising research capabilities of the students. They emphasized the importance of such studies in supporting the university's pursuit of institutional excellence.
This project was not merely an academic requirement, but a scholarly endeavor affirming that administrative innovation is no longer an option, but a strategic necessity for shaping the future. Universities that invest in innovation are best positioned to lead change and make a difference.
With this achievement, the Emirates International University continues to solidify its position as a leading educational institution that fosters creativity and cultivates a generation capable of competing and shaping a brighter future.
