“The Smart Citizen”... When Emirates International University Students Transform into Transparent Solutions for Dynamic and Dynamic Solutions

In a scene rooted in pioneering and leading digital solutions, the Management Information Systems Department at the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences at Emirates International University presented a unique graduation project entitled “The Smart Intelligence Application.” This project stands as one of the university's distinguished achievements, addressing societal needs and contributing to building a smarter and more sustainable future.
The project, created by students Wissam Musaed Al-Faiq, Mohammed Waleed Al-Maamari, Munir Sami Al-Baghdadi, Mohammed Tariq Al-Duais, Elias Ahmed Al-Arami, and Ziad Mansour Abdul Qader, under the distinguished academic supervision of Dr. Ashwaq Al-Janoubi and Engineer Safaa Al-Bahlouli, embodies a practical model for integrating academic knowledge with real-world application.
The application aims to provide comprehensive and accurate data – such as potholes, poor lighting, waste, and sanitation issues – through a smart platform that utilizes GPS technology and connects to local decision-making processes, thus accelerating focus, effort, and accuracy.
The system also controls an entire dashboard, unifying stakeholders in tracking immediate reports and documenting achievements. This fosters transparency and accountability, and builds trust between local authorities and management.
We have implemented agile development principles, adding a high level of design and execution to the project, with continuous development and updates to meet the demands of the evolving reality.
The study accompanying the conference notes that this system represents a step towards improving the efficiency and quality of public services, while also unifying the differences between government entities within a modern digital framework.
This project clearly reflects the outputs of the Emirates International University, which not only prepares its students academically but also empowers them to be innovators capable of making a real impact on their communities.
