Job Title: Teaching Assistant and Department Coordinator - Department of Information Technology
Administration: College of Engineering and Information Technology
Reports to: Dean of the College and Head of Department
Job Objective:
To perform all academic and administrative tasks within the scope of their duties and responsibilities, and to raise the level of students, the department, and laboratories to a standard befitting the university's requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Adherence to professional standards, study plans, and course syllabi prepared and approved by the university.
- Participation in quality assurance and academic development activities and events within the college.
- Conducting examinations, monitoring the marking, recording, and tracking results in the practical component.
- Fulfilling the assigned teaching load of 18 hours per week.
- Supervising the laboratories under their supervision and monitoring students during practical application.
- Addressing student issues and working to resolve them within the framework of regulations and under the supervision of the Dean of the College and Head of Department.
- Fulfilling the teaching load for practical components as per contracts.
- Delivering lectures using modern teaching methods. - Teaching specialized labs such as (Cloud Computing, Network Administration, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Information Security, and Computer Networks)
Coordinator's Duties:
- Preparing and coordinating class schedules and assigning them to classrooms and labs, in addition to the semester's theoretical and practical exam schedules.
- Ensuring the availability of necessary educational services (pens, erasers, equipment, photocopiers, other tools used in lectures, etc.), distributing them, and maintaining their records.
- Preparing and maintaining the signature folders of faculty members and their assistants, and preparing contracts.
- Serving on the college's examination committee team.
- Creating a file for each instructor containing their CV, qualifications, and course descriptions.
- Distributing course descriptions to instructors and students at the beginning of each semester.
- Informing instructors of circulars and instructions issued by departments or the Administrative Affairs Department.
- Acting as a liaison between the Academic Affairs Department, departments, instructors, and students.
- Participating in the college's scientific councils and committees. - Performing electronic and manual file archiving.
- Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports on the performance and adherence to regulations in the teaching process.
- Resolving student issues and escalating them to the academic departments and the Dean's office.
- Preparing and processing faculty members' entitlements within the department.
- Preparing and coordinating all college activities in coordination with the academic departments and administrative offices.
- Receiving and submitting coursework from faculty members.
- Creating and managing groups for faculty members and student representatives.
- Communicating and coordinating between faculty members and students regarding lectures, make-up classes, and absences.
- Participating in the preparation of events, seminars, and activities.
- Participating in the preparation of the college's academic calendar.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the department head or the college dean.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology with a minimum overall grade of Very Good.
Experience: At least three years of teaching experience.
Languages:
Arabic
English
