The Ramadan Football League between University Colleges Launched in a Specially Enthusiastic Atmosphere

Based on the importance of sports activities in honing students' skills and fostering a spirit of cooperation and teamwork, Professor Dr. Khaled Ahmed Salah, President of the Emirates International University, inaugurated the Ramadan Football League between the university's colleges today, Tuesday, at the Al Wahda Sports and Cultural Club stadium. The event was marked by a significant academic and student presence and a vibrant, competitive atmosphere.
In his opening remarks, the university president emphasized that the university does not merely focus on academic excellence, but also strives to cultivate well-rounded students who combine academic achievement with sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork. He noted that student activities, especially sports, are a fundamental pillar in developing young leaders capable of contributing and innovating both within and beyond the university.
He added that the holy month of Ramadan presents an opportunity to reinforce the values of morality, tolerance, and fair competition, affirming that this league embodies the spirit of unity among students from different colleges and disciplines.
The first day of the first group stage (first leg) witnessed intense matches between eight student teams, with the following results: Oil and Gas vs. Cybersecurity: 7-2, Laboratories vs. Accounting: 8-4, Finance and Banking vs. Artificial Intelligence: 6-4, Dentistry vs. Cybersecurity: 2-1.
The matches were characterized by competitiveness and enthusiasm, with several players displaying a high level of skill, reflecting their preparation and strong desire to compete for the league title. The students enthusiastically cheered on their teams with remarkable sportsmanship.
The competition continues tomorrow with matches for the second group, while the third group matches will be held on Thursday. The second leg will begin early next week, leading up to the final rounds, which are expected to be even more competitive and exciting.
The inauguration was attended by the University President, along with:
Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Dr. Ibrahim Farea; Dean of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Mohammed Al-Kahali; Academic Coordinator of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Mr. Waseem Farea; Registrar, Mr. Marwan Al-Zaraei; and the tournament's organizing team.
Organizing this tournament is part of the university's strategy to activate student activities, enhance the attractive university environment, and instill a culture of balance between academic achievement, community engagement, and sports. This contributes to graduating academically and leadership-wise qualified individuals who possess a team spirit, the values of fair competition, and the ambition for excellence.
