As part of the Emirates International University's commitment to the quality of its educational outcomes and enhancing its graduates' readiness to actively participate in the job market, the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences implemented a specialized banking training program for graduates of the Accounting Department, in cooperation with the Yemen Bank for Reconstruction and Development, to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
The program was implemented with the direct follow-up and attention of the Dean of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Mohammed Al-Kahali, and under the supervision of the Head of the Accounting and Financial and Banking Sciences Departments, Dr. Fahmi Al-Daqaf, as part of the "Fundamentals of Banking - Group One" training program, offered by the Yemen Bank for Reconstruction and Development as a community initiative supporting the development of university graduates.
The program targeted approximately 25 male and female students graduating from the Accounting Department in the 2024-2025 academic year. It consisted of three intensive training days, including theoretical sessions at the bank's training center, as well as a practical field visit to the Al-Hasbah branch of the Yemen Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
During the field visit, participants learned about the banking operations and the nature of tasks in the branch's various departments, including customer service, banking operations, accounts, and credit. They also gained insight into the professional procedures and systems used in banking, thus enhancing their practical understanding of the academic knowledge they acquired during their studies.
The program organizers emphasized that this initiative reflects the university's vision of graduating qualified professionals with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience necessary to meet the demands of financial and banking institutions. They commended the students' engagement and commitment, and praised the positive role played by the Yemen Bank for Reconstruction and Development in supporting the educational process and serving the community.
This program is a successful model of integration between educational institutions and the banking sector, reflecting the Emirates International University's commitment to high-quality, applied education that meets the needs of the job market and contributes to building a promising professional future for its graduates.
