The Emirates International University Participates in the Yemeni Universities Individual Sports Championship

The Emirates International University is participating in the individual sports championship (table tennis, billiards, and badminton) organized by the Higher Education Sector of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the University of Science and Technology in Sana'a. The championship features wide participation from 20 public and private universities and community colleges, and its events will continue for three days.

 

At the opening ceremony this morning, Saturday, the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hatem Al-Duais, emphasized the importance of university sports activities in promoting a spirit of positive competition and building well-rounded student personalities. He praised the organization and the broad participation of universities and community colleges, and expressed the Ministry's aspirations to expand these championships annually to include university staff and faculty members.

 

The Emirates International University is represented in the billiards championship by students Ahmed Hashem Qalala and Ammar Abdo Al-Hallali; in the table tennis championship by students Osama Mohammed Al-Harazi and Awsan Al-Jaifi; and in the badminton championship by students Ali Hammadi and Ahmed Al-Jaour.

 

 The first day of the championship, attended by Dr. Numan Al-Najjar, Vice President of the University of Science, Mr. Abdulkarim Al-Dahhak, Director General of Activities at the Ministry, and Eng. Osama Hazam, Head of Activities at the University, witnessed an enthusiastic and competitive atmosphere among the participants, amidst excellent organization and great interaction from the attendees.
