In line with its vision to enhance practical application and align academic outcomes with the demands of the professional world, the Emirates International University, represented by the Biomedical Engineering Department in the College of Engineering and Information Technology, launched a field training program for third-year students at the Republican Hospital. This initiative represents a significant step towards developing qualified engineering professionals who possess both scientific knowledge and practical skills.
The six-week practical training program, conducted two days a week in coordination with the hospital's engineers, aims to strengthen the integration of theoretical and applied knowledge. It equips students with the practical skills and experience necessary to understand the real work environment and prepares them to confidently and efficiently enter the job market. During the program, which was implemented by dividing students into groups, trainees learned about the different departments in the hospital, the types of medical equipment used, how to operate them, and preventive and corrective maintenance procedures. They also gained insight into the nature of engineering work within healthcare facilities. Furthermore, they participated practically in performing maintenance work on medical equipment in various hospital departments, which contributed to honing their applied skills and enhancing their professional readiness.
This training comes as part of the Emirates International University's commitment to providing a comprehensive, high-quality education that contributes to graduating specialized professionals capable of making a positive impact on serving the community.
