University Leadership Meets with First Football Team and Congratulates Them on Qualifying for the Round of 16 in the Yemeni Universities League

As part of the ongoing commitment to student activities and supporting athletic talent, the President of the Emirates International University, Dr. Khaled Ahmed Salah, along with the Secretary-General, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, met this morning, Saturday, with the university's first football team participating in the Yemeni Universities League for the 2025-2026 academic year. The league is organized by the Higher Education Sector of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research for students of Yemeni universities and community colleges.
Also present at the meeting were the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Dr. Ibrahim Fara’a; the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Mohammed Al-Kahali; the Head of the Cybersecurity Department, Dr. Jamil Rashid; the Activities Coordinator, Engineer Osama Hazam; and the team's technical staff.
During the meeting, University President Dr. Khaled Salah congratulated the team's players and coaching staff on topping their group and their well-deserved qualification for the Round of 16. He praised the team's outstanding technical skill, high level of discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the previous matches, which reflected positively on the university's students on the field.
The university president emphasized that the university views sports activities as an integral part of the holistic student development system, alongside academic and research excellence. He stressed the university leadership's continued support for all activities that contribute to honing students' skills, developing their physical and mental abilities, and fostering teamwork and a sense of belonging.
For his part, Secretary-General Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash expressed his pride in the team's positive results in their previous and current participations. He urged the players to continue their efforts, maintain their high level of performance, and capitalize on the administrative and moral support provided to achieve further accomplishments, ultimately aiming for a serious challenge for the championship title.
The team players expressed their deep pride and gratitude for the university leadership's attention and ongoing support, emphasizing that this meeting provided them with a significant morale boost to continue their journey with even greater determination and responsibility. The players explained that their positive results would not have been possible without the administrative and technical support, teamwork, and discipline both on and off the field.
The players affirmed their commitment to exerting maximum effort in the upcoming matches, representing the Emirates International University with the honor befitting its name and standing, and competing fiercely for the championship title. They stressed that their ambition extends beyond simply qualifying; they aspire to lift the University League Cup and dedicate it to the university's leadership and students.
