The Higher Education Sector Launches the Third Yemeni University Football Championship in Partnership with Al-Wahda Club

In a spirited sporting atmosphere reflecting the competitive spirit among higher education institutions, the Higher Education Sector of the Ministry of Education launched the third Yemeni University Football Championship today, in partnership with Al-Wahda Club, as part of the club's seventh winter forum.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hatem Al-Duais, who emphasized in his speech the importance of sports activities in strengthening university spirit and developing future leaders, noting the role of sports in creating a positive competitive environment among students. Also present was Mr. Amin Jumaan, Secretary-General of the Local Council of the Capital Governorate and President of Al-Wahda Sports Club, who praised the efforts of the existing partnership in organizing a sporting event of this scale, bringing together public and private universities under one roof.
Following the opening ceremony, the opening match kicked off between the Emirates International University and Al-Rashid University, ending in a 1-1 draw in a highly competitive encounter.
Twenty-six public and private universities are participating in the tournament, amidst intensive preparations for the group stage qualifiers in the coming days. This sporting event is considered the largest of its kind at the university level in Yemen and embodies the presence of university students and their role in enriching sports and academic activities in the country.
