The United Arab Emirates University organizes a scientific symposium on modern trends in strategic management and their role in developing institutions.

Under the patronage of the University President, Dr. Khaled Ahmed Salah, the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, in cooperation with the Deanship of Graduate Studies, organized a scientific symposium on Monday entitled "Modern Trends in Strategic Management and Their Role in Developing Institutions." The symposium was attended by a select group of academics, researchers, and graduate students.
The symposium began with a speech by the University Vice President, Dr. Ahmed Al-Badani, in which he emphasized that strategic management represents the gateway to true institutional development. He noted that the Emirates International University pays great attention to this field by developing its academic and research programs to keep pace with the changing times.
The Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, then delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and praised the efforts of the College and the Deanship of Graduate Studies in enriching the academic movement within the University. He emphasized the importance of this type of symposium in promoting modern management thought and linking it to the reality of national institutions.
Following this, the Dean of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Mohammed Al Kahali, delivered a speech in which he noted that strategic management has become a fundamental pillar of institutional success, especially in light of rapid digital transformations. He called for the need to direct scientific research to serve the reality of institutions and improve their performance.
The symposium included three main themes:
The first theme: Analyzing the reality of strategic planning at the Emirates International University and the extent of implementation of the university's strategy (2020–2025). This theme was presented by Professor Sharaf Al Hamdi, Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, who reviewed the achieved performance indicators and levels of achievement in implementing the pillars of the university's strategic plan.
The second theme: Strategic leadership and its role in keeping pace with change and developing institutions. This theme was presented by graduate students, who reviewed field experiences and contemporary leadership models.
The third theme: Strategic management as a tool for achieving excellence and institutional sustainability. This theme was presented by Dr. Ahmed Al Wajeeh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azal Hospital; Dr. Mohammed Al Seraji, the hospital's Administrative Director; and Dr. Ali Mohammed Al Dhubaibi, the hospital's Director of Quality. They presented practical experiences in applying strategic management concepts in the healthcare sector.
The symposium, moderated by Dr. Mohammed Al Kahali, witnessed rich discussions and significant interaction from the attendees, who emphasized the importance of adopting modern visions in strategic management as a gateway to improving institutional performance and achieving excellence and sustainability.
