On Tuesday, Rabi' al-Awwal 3, 1447 AH, corresponding to August 26, 2024 AD, the Emirates International University organized a central speech event to commemorate the Prophet's Birthday for the year 1447 AH, may the best prayers and peace be upon him and his family.
During the event, the university president, Dr. Khaled Salah, considered the celebration of the Prophet's Birthday one of the greatest occasions and the most important holiday, as it is linked to the birth of the best of creation and the greatest man in human history, who was able to change the course of history and save the nation from misguidance and slavery to freedom and the worship of the One, Almighty God.
He pointed out that Yemen's celebrations of the Prophet's birthday are no longer limited to these rituals, events, and appearances. Rather, they are a revival of the jihadi spirit, a support for the oppressed, a revival of hope for a brighter future and great victories, a raising of awareness, insight, and vigilance, and a way out of the state of weakness, powerlessness, and despair that has afflicted the nation.
The university president emphasized that celebrating the Prophet's birthday angers infidels and hypocrites, instills fear in their hearts, and thwarts plans and attempts to separate the nation from its Prophet and role model, plunge it into sectarian conflicts and struggles, and bind it to other symbols and role models.
He explained that the Prophet's birthday comes this year as the Islamic nation suffers major setbacks due to its failure to fulfill its duty to support their oppressed brothers in Gaza, who are being subjected to the most heinous genocide, killing, and starvation at the hands of the usurping Jews, amidst global silence and shameful Arab and Islamic inaction.
The university president addressed the stances of Yemenis, who were and continue to be at the forefront of those supporting the noble Prophet and his call, adhering to his fragrant life, beacons of guidance, and adherence to the resistance approach to confronting injustice and arrogance. This is reflected today in the stance of the Yemeni people, their wise leadership, and the armed forces supporting the Palestinian people and resistance in Gaza.
For his part, the Director General of Legal Affairs in the Higher Education Sector, Professor Abdul Salam Al-Hadi, highlighted the importance of commemorating the birth of the most honorable of God's creation, the Seal of the Prophets and Master of the Messengers, whose memory God has elevated and glorified. May God, the angels, and all people send blessings upon him. God sent him as a mercy to the worlds, a guide, a bringer of good news, a caller to goodness, and a guiding light.
He considered the celebration of the Prophet's birthday an important annual event to renew loyalty and love for God and His Messenger, and to strengthen our close connection to the Book of God and the fragrant biography of His Prophet. He also emphasized following his guidance and approach in jihad, steadfastness, patience, confronting enemies, and not compromising or surrendering. He also emphasized embodying the values the Noble Prophet held in our lives and daily reality.
He addressed the Yemeni people's stance with regard to Gaza, which embodies the extent of our close connection and love for the Messenger of God, his approach, and his fragrant biography. He also emphasized following his example by not negotiating, tolerating, or conceding to the Jews, regardless of the sacrifices and conspiracies.
For his part, cultural activist Hussein Khairan reviewed milestones in the history of the Prophet's birthday and the liberation movements that accompanied the stage of public proclamation of the call, as well as the challenges they faced, which have served as a reflection of all liberation movements since the Prophet's death until the present day.
He emphasized that the tools of conflict that stood against the Noble Prophet and his call to Islam in Mecca and Medina, as well as the siege of the Banu Hashim tribe and its tools, today the Palestinian people, along with the Yemeni people, are experiencing the same movements at the hands of the Jews and the same tools characterized by the global arrogant society.
He pointed out the need for the nation today to benefit from this great anniversary as a platform from which to draw upon God's light and guidance, and all the moral and faith-based energy it can provide. We can return to the Noble Prophet, his life, and his fragrant biography, emulating and emulating him, and following his path in confronting injustice and oppressors. He explained that honoring the Prophet of Humanity is one of the most important reasons for victory, changing the nation's situation for the better, and restoring its pride, dignity, and glory.
The event, which was attended by Secretary-General Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, deans of colleges, the university's activities officer, and a crowd of male and female students, included artistic performances and a poem by Youssef Al-Daylami, expressing the significance of the occasion in the hearts and minds of Yemenis.
