The "From Institute to University" event concluded at the Emirates International University on Thursday, August 7, 2025. The two-day event, which ran for two consecutive days, featured broad participation from English language institutes in the capital, Sana'a, and a significant attendance of institute students and high school graduates, along with a number of university students and academic and administrative staff.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs and Secretary-General, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash. In his speech, Hanash expressed his pride in the outstanding level of student interaction and the event's success in achieving its academic and awareness-raising goals. He emphasized that the university continues to strengthen bridges of communication with institutes and educational institutions, as part of its ambitious vision to provide a comprehensive university experience, beginning with the first step a student takes toward their academic future.
Dr. Farad Hanash thanked all participating entities, appreciating the efforts of the institutes and organizing staff. He emphasized that the university strives to be a gateway to opportunities and a center for attracting talent through a modern educational environment and quality partnerships.
The event, which ran over Wednesday and Thursday, aimed to enable students of English language institutes to learn about the various university majors and the distinguished academic programs offered by the university. It also provided them with unique registration opportunities and exclusive offers, including:
100 free full scholarships for the English Language Diploma
200 partial scholarships for the English Language Diploma
1,000 training courses offered by participating institutes
Special registration offers provided by the university for institute students
Introductory sessions and field trips within the university
Development workshops and seminars contributed to raising students' awareness of their academic options
A seminar titled "How to Choose Your University Major" was also held during the event. Presented by Dr. Ahmed Al-Julbi, the seminar also included an introductory seminar on the DAAD exam, delivered by trainer Mariam Masawi, highlighting educational opportunities in Germany and their requirements. A seminar titled "Your Guide to the iBT - IELTS Exam" was also presented by trainer Hussam Khaled.
Participants expressed their happiness with this initiative, which provided them with a valuable opportunity to explore university life and help them make informed and insightful future decisions.
