The College of Engineering and Information Technology, in cooperation with the University's Center for Development and Quality Assurance, organized a training workshop this Thursday morning for assistant faculty members in the departments of Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence. The workshop, titled "Preparing and Documenting Student Files for Practical Training for the Course in Accordance with Learning Outcomes," is part of the university's efforts to enhance the quality of the educational process and academic performance.
The workshop was opened with a speech by Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, who welcomed the participants and emphasized that organizing this workshop falls within the framework of the university's commitment to qualifying and developing its academic staff and raising their level of competence in line with modern academic standards and the requirements of institutional and programmatic accreditation.
Dr. Fouad Hanash pointed out that the university adopts a clear strategic vision aimed at graduating academically and practically qualified cadres who meet the needs of the labor market, possessing competitive skills and the ability to innovate and create in various disciplines. He emphasized that practical training is a pivotal element in achieving these goals, by consolidating students' applied skills and strengthening the link between theory and practice.
For his part, Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, presented a comprehensive overview of the workshop's objectives and themes, explaining the importance of the practical training file as a document that reflects the level of achievement of learning outcomes and the extent of student interaction with the practical application environment. He also emphasized that the workshop is part of a series of development programs aimed at building a culture of quality and achieving academic excellence in performance and documentation.
The workshop, attended by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Ibrahim Farea, a number of heads of academic departments, staff from the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, experts, and representatives from the labor market, featured a practical model of the course's practical training file presented by Dr. Farouk Al-Fahidi and Dr. Hisham Aqlan. They reviewed the most important required components and documentation mechanisms according to the course requirements and explained methods for linking practical activities to the targeted outcomes in a systematic and practical manner.
It is worth noting that the university continues to implement such qualitative programs to enhance the capabilities of the academic staff and achieve integration between academic planning and field application, with the aim of providing a pioneering educational experience and sustainable academic quality.
