This workshop was organized in light of modern trends in higher education and the university's commitment to improving the quality of the educational process and linking theory with practical application. This enhances the readiness of its graduates for the labor market and ensures the achievement of clear and effective learning outcomes.
The workshop was opened with a speech by the university president, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Muwafari, in which he welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of the workshop in improving the quality of practical education and enhancing the capabilities of academic and administrative staff in documenting and monitoring student performance in the practical aspects of academic courses.

Dr. Farouk Al Fahidi, Head of the Information Technology Department, reviewed a draft of the course's practical training portfolio, noting its importance as a unified documentation reference for academic evaluation and quality assurance. Dr. Hisham Aqlan, a faculty member, presented a practical model of a comprehensive training portfolio, explaining the mechanisms for linking activity reports and supervisor evaluations to the required learning outcomes.
The workshop witnessed significant interaction from participating faculty members, training supervisors, and teaching assistants involved in practical courses. An open session was dedicated to discussion and exchange of experiences. The program also included practical training on preparing and evaluating practical training files using professional documentation templates and reports.
The workshop concluded with recommendations aimed at: standardizing the mechanism for preparing practical training files for courses across all academic programs; enhancing the capacity of faculty members and their assistants to accurately and effectively document and evaluate practical activities in accordance with quality and academic accreditation standards; enabling students to organize their training files for courses; and supporting institutional and program accreditation requirements by linking practical experiences with the learning outcomes specified in the course descriptions.
The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Ibrahim Farea, along with a number of department heads and a select group of academics, stakeholders, and administrators from the College of Engineering and Information Technology.
