In an achievement that reflects the advanced level of engineering education at the Emirates International University, a group of students from the Mechatronics Engineering Department discussed a unique graduation project on Sunday titled "Delta Robot for Automated Control." The project embodies a combination of academic knowledge and advanced practical application, confirming the university's graduates' readiness to compete in the fields of modern industry and technology.
The project, presented by students Yousef Khaled Ahmed Salman, Muhannad Riyad Aqlan Al-Jumaili, Mohammed Samir Al-Waziza, Marwan Mohammed Al-Kahali, Khalil Naji Ali Mohammed Al-Ziyadi, and Murtada Munir Abdullah Jawas, and supervised by Dr. Radwan Al-Badiji, represents an advanced model of a lightweight robot designed for automated pick-up and placement operations, targeting use in small-scale industrial and educational environments.
The project utilized the latest technologies. The structure was manufactured using 3D printed materials, and the robot was controlled using the Arduino Uno platform with DRV8825 micromotors and a simulation system based on MATLAB/Simulink and SolidWorks. Microelectronics and NEMA 17 motors were integrated with a conveyor system that simulates an industrial automation environment, enabling the robot to perform its tasks accurately, efficiently, and at a low cost.
Attendees praised the high standard of the project. The discussion committee included a group of elite academics, headed by Dr. Ibrahim Farea, Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Mohammed Al-Alafi, Dr. Radwan Al-Badaji, Dr. Jameel Rashid, and Dr. Hani Damaj. They expressed their admiration for the students' ability to connect theoretical design with practical implementation according to precise engineering standards.
Through these graduation projects, the UAEU affirms its leadership in adopting applied education and encouraging innovation among its students within a modern educational environment that keeps pace with contemporary developments. The academic achievements of the university's students are true evidence of the quality of the university's output and the high proficiency of its students in various fields of engineering and technology.
