The External Review Team's Field Visit to the Information Technology Program at the Emirates International University Concludes

The External Review Team of the Academic Accreditation Council concluded its field visit to the Information Technology Program at the Emirates International University on Wednesday, Dhu al-Qi'dah 23, 1446 AH (May 21, 2025 AD). The visit, which was planned for three consecutive days, was completed after completing the requirements and procedures for obtaining program accreditation.

 

During the visit, the team verified evidence and reviewed the facilities, equipment, and program content. They also held a series of meetings with representatives of academic standards. The visit concluded with a closing session dedicated to a comprehensive overview of the visit and its outcomes.

 

In the closing session, Professor Abdulaziz Al-Shuaibi, a member of the Academic Accreditation Council, emphasized that the world is witnessing a frantic race to adopt modern systems, most notably artificial intelligence, which has become a tangible reality and could replace many traditional services. He called on universities to take advantage of this technological advancement and keep pace with global transformations to improve the educational process.

 

Dr. Al-Shuaibi also highlighted the importance of positive competition among universities in providing a distinguished educational experience that serves students, faculty, and institutions. He also highlighted the need to continue updating curricula to keep pace with contemporary developments.

 

Dr. Al-Shuaibi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the team, headed by Dr. Yahya Al-Ashmouri, and including Dr. Maher Al-Sanabani and Dr. Bilal Al-Fahidi, as well as the accompanying team of experts, headed by Dr. Musa Ghorab, Director General of Systems, Dr. Huda Al-Sanhani, Director General of Accreditation, and Mr. Nasr Madar, Legal Advisor. He also thanked the media team, represented by Engineer Mansour Al-Salwi and Engineer Ramzi Al-Sarhi, the university leadership, represented by its President, Dr. Nasser Al-Mufri, and Secretary-General, Dr. Fouad Hanash, and the program leadership, who facilitated the team's tasks and provided it with all necessary resources.

 

 For his part, Dr. Mohammed Daifallah, Secretary-General of the Council, reviewed the importance of academic accreditation, its types, and the obstacles that educational institutions may face. He also highlighted the measures required of the university and the program leadership after the visit, particularly regarding the ongoing follow-up phase or after the issuance of the Accreditation Committee's decision.

 

Dr. Yahya Al-Ashmouri, Team Leader, also gave a detailed presentation of the measures implemented during the visit and the meetings held, highlighting the most prominent strengths and weaknesses identified in the academic program.

 

Dr. Musa Ghorab, in turn, presented a review of the program's academic accreditation process, from the signing of the agreement with the university until the completion of the field visit, including the stages of analyzing and discussing the team's reports.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Nasser Al-Muwafari, President of the University, expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by the Council and the team, both before the visit and since the signing of the agreement.

 

 The meeting was attended by a number of university leaders, led by Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, Secretary-General, deans of colleges, department heads, and a number of faculty members and students.
