Launching a first aid course for first-level students of the College of Medicine and Sciences in cooperation with the Yemeni Red Crescent

The College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Emirates International University witnessed today, Saturday, the launch of an intensive training course in first aid for first-level students of the Department of Human Medicine, in cooperation with the Yemeni Red Crescent Society, in the presence of the President of the University, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mufri, Secretary-General Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Saleh Al-Dhaheri, Vice Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Sadiq Abdul-Mughni, and representatives of the Yemeni Red Crescent and their certified trainers for the training course.

 

The three-day course aims to provide students with basic skills and knowledge in the field of first aid, and enable them to deal with various emergency cases and injuries that they may encounter in their professional and community lives.

 

 During the inauguration, the university president, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mofri, stressed the importance of this course in qualifying medical college students and providing them with the practical skills necessary to deal with emergency cases before moving to the clinical stage, noting that this course comes within the framework of the university's keenness to provide the best services to its students and provide them with the knowledge and skills that enable them to benefit during the clinical stage and serve their community. 

 

While the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Saleh Al-Dhaheri, and the Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Fouad Ismail Hanash, indicated that this course comes within a series of training courses organized by the college for its students, with the aim of providing them with the skills and knowledge necessary to practice the medical profession efficiently. 

 

100 male and female students from different levels in the Department of Human Medicine are participating in the course, where they were divided into groups to receive theoretical and practical training at the hands of an elite group of trainers specialized in first aid from the Yemeni Red Crescent. 

 

The course covers a wide range of important topics, including: rapid examination of the injured, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway obstruction and suffocation, mass injuries, children's emergencies, and other related topics.
