Conclusion of the training program for the first-level students of the Civil Engineering Department in the Central Laboratory of the Ministry of Public Works

The College of Engineering and Information Technology at the University, in cooperation with the Central Laboratory of the Ministry of Public Works, concluded the practical training program for the first-level students of the Civil Engineering Department, which lasted for three weeks - two days each week - in the central laboratory.
The training program aimed to qualify students to use engineering devices and equipment, and train them to conduct various engineering tests, measurements and experiments, which contributes to raising the efficiency of students and providing them with the necessary practical skills that will help them during their academic years and in the labor market after graduation.
The training program included a set of lectures, practical applications, and conducting experiments in specialized laboratories inside the laboratory, including: experiments to determine the standard consistency of cement, knowing the initial setting time (initial hardening) and knowing the final setting time (final hardening), sieve determination and gradation of aggregates (gravel), volumetric density of aggregates (gravel), and an experiment to determine the fineness of cement, and a number of experiments related to their scientific specialization.
The training program, which lasted for three weeks, benefited more than 50 students in the first level.
The training of the students was supervised by a number of engineers in the central laboratories who are specialized and highly qualified in their various fields.
The implementation of the training program comes within the framework of the university's keenness to improve and develop the educational and training process, through cooperation with governmental and private agencies in the field of training and qualification, which contributes to developing the skills and abilities of students, to acquire the scientific and practical skills that help them during their academic stages as well as compete in the labor market with merit and confidence.
