With the aim of linking the theoretical aspect with the practical, the College of Engineering and Information Technology - Civil Engineering Department continues to implement the training program for the second-level students of the Civil Engineering Department in the central laboratory of the Ministry of Public Works. Under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Amri, and Engineer Saddam Issa.
The training program aims to qualify students to use engineering devices and equipment, and train them to conduct various engineering tests and measurements, which contributes to raising the efficiency of students and providing them with the necessary practical skills that help them during their academic years and in the labor market after graduation.
The training program includes a set of lectures and practical applications and conducting experiments in specialized laboratories inside the laboratory, including:
Tensile strength of iron, compressive strength of concrete, rebound hammer, ultrasound, granular washing gradation, dry granular gradation, analytical hydrometer gradation.
The training program lasts for three weeks, and more than 40 students in the second level benefit from it.
The students are supervised by a number of engineers in the central laboratories who are specialized and highly qualified in their various fields.
The implementation of the training program comes within the framework of the university's keenness to improve and develop the educational and training process, through cooperation with governmental and private agencies in the field of training and qualification, which contributes to developing students' skills and abilities, to acquire scientific and practical skills that help them during their academic stages as well as compete in the labor market with full merit and confidence.
