The Deanship of Graduate Studies at the Emirates International University organized, today, Tuesday, a comprehensive scientific symposium on the applications of artificial intelligence in the field of business, in the presence of the President of the University, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mofri, the Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Abdullah Al-Qurashi, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Ibrahim Farea, the Dean of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Al-Kahali, and a number of heads of scientific departments in the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences and the College of Engineering and faculty members in graduate studies.
This symposium aimed to achieve several main objectives, including: enhancing awareness of the capabilities of artificial intelligence and its potential to improve business performance, building bridges of cooperation between the university and the private sector to develop innovative solutions, encouraging scientific research in the field of artificial intelligence and its applications, and training cadres on the latest technologies and skills necessary to keep pace with developments in this field.
The symposium was opened by Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mofri, President of the University, who delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of artificial intelligence and its pivotal role in developing various sectors, and urged researchers from graduate students at the university to continue their efforts in this promising field.
The Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Abdullah Al-Qurashi, also delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and spoke about the objectives of the symposium and its importance in keeping pace with rapid technological developments.
The symposium covered a wide range of topics that included the basics of artificial intelligence and its applications in various business fields, including strategic planning, production management, marketing, finance and human resources, as follows:
The first axis: The basics of artificial intelligence, presented by researcher Khaled Karim.
The second axis: Applications of artificial intelligence in strategic planning, presented by researcher Muhammad Al-Wali.
The third axis: Applications of artificial intelligence in production management, presented by researcher Ahlam Al-Rahbi.
The fourth axis: Applications of artificial intelligence in the field of marketing, presented by researcher Tariq Al-Hadrani.
Fifth axis: Applications of artificial intelligence in the financial and accounting field, presented by researcher Sondos Al-Ruwaishan.
Sixth axis: Applications of artificial intelligence in human resources management, presented by researcher Reem Anam.
Then, researcher Mustafa Al-Maarsi reviewed real examples of the uses of artificial intelligence in business fields.
The symposium came out with a number of important recommendations, including: enhancing cooperation between universities and the private sector, with the aim of developing smart solutions that suit the local market, establishing a national platform for innovation, bringing together companies and researchers to support research projects, encouraging institutions to integrate artificial intelligence technologies to improve productivity and decision-making, developing educational curricula to keep pace with future labor market requirements, and holding more seminars and workshops to enhance awareness of artificial intelligence.
At the end of the symposium, researchers from graduate students, its academic staff, the university presidency, and deans of colleges were honored.
