The Higher Supervisory Committee for Evaluation to evaluate postgraduate programs in private higher education institutions organized its field visit today, Monday, Rajab 20, 1446 AH, corresponding to January 20, 2025 AD, to the Emirates International University. 

 

The committee, which was received by the President of the University, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mufri, deans of colleges, and a number of heads of academic departments, went to evaluate the Master of Information Technology and Business Administration programs at the Emirates International University, within the framework of the postgraduate programs evaluation project targeting 86 academic programs in the master's and doctoral courses in 17 private universities. 

 

 During the extended meeting of the university leadership and its staff with the committees, the Chairman of the Higher Supervisory Committee, Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, explained that today's field visit targets the field evaluation process for the Master of Information Technology and Business Administration programs at the UAE University, with the aim of evaluating, assessing and controlling the educational process and its quality in postgraduate programs to ensure the creation of scientific research and qualified outputs that meet the needs of the labor market. 

 

He pointed out that the evaluation process is carried out in accordance with the approved reference framework for evaluation, including documents, forms, standards and mechanisms submitted by the Academic Accreditation Council, which were examined, reviewed and controlled by the Higher Supervisory Committee for Evaluation and approved by the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, to work with them. 

 

Dr. Al-Bukhaiti pointed out that the Ministry began three months ago to form a higher supervisory committee to complete the evaluation process in a professional and accurate manner in all study programs at private universities according to reference standards and controls and to select qualified and efficient cadres who have been trained in the evaluation process. 

 

 For his part, the Undersecretary of the Higher Education Sector at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, praised the interaction of university presidents with the evaluation committees and their dealings with them and looking at them positively and the possibility of benefiting from the committees' outputs to evaluate their reality. 

 

He stressed that one of the goals of the Government of Construction and Change program focused on finding a mechanism to correct the conditions of universities and correct the imbalances that affected them in all aspects, and the first committee formed in this regard was the Committee for the Evaluation and Review of Postgraduate Programs in Private Higher Education Institutions. 

 

For his part, the President of the Emirates International University, Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Mofri, indicated that the university continues the process of self-evaluation continuously and has a plan for academic and institutional modernization and development, and has worked during the past period to modernize and develop laboratories, and has established new halls and is in the process of establishing a number of other halls and modernizing laboratories invarious colleges.

The university president considered the field visit of the evaluation committees to the universities a qualitative step to evaluate postgraduate programs, know their reality, and benefit from the outputs of the committees in the process of continuous modernization and development, which contributes to advancing the educational process and improving the quality of outputs that meet the needs of the labor market. 

 

The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the University, Dr. Ahmed Al-Badani, the Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Abdullah Al-Qurashi, the Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, Dr. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Ibrahim Fareh, the Dean of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Al-Kahali, and a number of heads of scientific departments and members of the committees, leaders and experts of the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council for Higher Education.
