The College of Engineering and Information Technology at the university continues for the second week to implement the practical training program for the first-level students of the Civil Engineering Department in the central laboratory of the Ministry of Public Works.
The training program aims to qualify students to use engineering devices and equipment, and train them to conduct various engineering tests, measurements and experiments, which contributes to raising the efficiency of students and providing them with the necessary practical skills that help them during their academic years and in the labor market after graduation.
The training program includes a set of lectures, practical applications and conducting experiments in specialized laboratories within the laboratory, including: experiments to determine the standard consistency of cement, knowing the initial setting time (initial hardening) and knowing the final setting time (final hardening), sieve determination and gradation of aggregate (gravel), volumetric density of aggregate (gravel), an experiment to determine the fineness of cement, and a number of experiments related to their scientific specialization.
The training program lasts for three weeks, and more than 50 students in the first level benefit from it.
The training of students is supervised by a number of engineers in the central laboratories who are specialized and highly qualified in their various fields.
The implementation of the training program comes within the framework of the university's keenness to improve and develop the educational and training process, through cooperation with governmental and private agencies in the field of training and qualification, which contributes to developing students' skills and abilities, to acquire scientific and practical skills that help them during their academic stages as well as compete in the labor market with full merit and confidence.
