University Media
The College of Engineering and Information Technology at the UAE University concluded, today, Thursday, the training course in Autodesk Revit for civil engineering students, level two, as part of the university's efforts to provide its students with the latest practical skills and knowledge.
The course, presented by Engineer Ihab Al-Iskandari, for four days with a total of 8 training hours, aimed to enable students to master the use of the Revit program in designing and creating three-dimensional models for civil engineering projects with high accuracy.
During the course, students learned to learn about BIM technology, learn about the differences between CAD technology and BIM technology, learn about the dimensions of BIM technology (2D, 3d, 4d, 5d,...), and then learn about the REVIT program and its various applications in engineering fields.
Students also learn how to create architectural and structural elements, by learning how to build walls, columns, foundations, and ceilings with high accuracy using the program, as well as calculating the quantities of materials needed for the project and determining technical specifications, conducting simple structural analyses on the model, dealing with models of other specializations such as mechanics and electricity, and preparing and extracting the drawings needed to implement the project.
