The University President Participates in the Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Information Technology Center for the Year 2024 AD

Dr. Nasser Hadi Al-Moufari, President of the Emirates International University, participated today, Monday, 29 Jumada Al-Akhira 1446 AH corresponding to December 30, 2024, in the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Information Technology Center for the year 2024 AD.
The Board of Directors of the Information Technology Center today, headed by the Minister of Education and Scientific Research Hassan Al-Saadi, discussed the progress of the center's performance during the current year and future directions and plans.
The meeting, which included the Deputy Minister Dr. Hatem Al-Dais, the Undersecretary of the Higher Education Sector Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, and members of the Council, presidents of government universities and representatives of private universities, reviewed the report of the Executive Director of the Center, Dr. Fouad Hassan Abdul Razzaq, which included the achievements, activities and events implemented by the General Center during 2024 AD related to its strategic directions.
The meeting listened to the technical and technological report submitted by the Assistant Director of the Center, Dr. Musa Ghurab, regarding the steps taken to update and develop automation systems and exchange information and data, most notably the electronic coordination portal, the student records and data system, the coordination portal for postgraduate studies, and the tasks and advantages of electronic systems to keep pace with developments in this aspect and provide a unified database for graduates from Yemeni universities.
The meeting approved the adoption of the electronic portal for coordination and acceptance for postgraduate programs aimed at improving postgraduate services and unifying and controlling operations related to postgraduate programs, starting from coordination, acceptance and supervision of scientific theses and ending with discussion through a unified window, which contributes to creating an incubator environment for postgraduate programs.
It also approved the continuation of support for the center's team in implementing and maintaining university systems, and approving possible alternatives to provide a solar energy system, servers and special devices for the center due to the obsolescence of the previous devices and ensuring the preservation of documents and data from damage or hacking.
The attendees agreed to link the SAR system in universities with the Ministry of Finance system according to clear determinants, controls and work mechanisms, taking into account the caveats raised by university presidents regarding ensuring the smooth running of academic and administrative work assigned to them.
The meeting approved the minutes of the previous meeting, the schedule of the center's debt to universities for the past years, and its transfer to the center's account starting from the academic year 2024-2025.
In the meeting, the Minister of Education and Scientific Research praised the efforts of the leadership and cadres of the Information Technology Center and their fingerprints in implementing automation projects, digital systems and achievements in light of the current situation and with limited capabilities.
He stressed the keenness to stand by the universities and address any imbalances that lead to interference in the tasks and powers of university presidents, noting that the current stage requires concerted efforts to raise the level of the educational and academic process in the country and contribute to the process of construction and development.
Al-Saadi directed university presidents to interact with the activities and events of "Al-Aqsa Flood" and to involve students in mobilization to prepare and be ready to defend the country.. stressing the need for universities, researchers and academics to participate in the Third Palestine Conference "The Central Issue of the Nation".
