The UAE International University, represented by its students, participated in the sports championship in the games of "table tennis, billiards, volleyball" for students of public and private universities and community colleges under the slogan "You are not alone".
The championship, which is organized over three days by the Higher Education Sector in cooperation with the University of Science and Technology, is attended by 120 students from 25 public and private universities and community colleges, in the amateur and professional categories, with the aim of enhancing national, moral and social values among students, developing their skills and intellectual and physical abilities, and discovering talents among university students.
At the launch, the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research considered the sports championship in table tennis, volleyball and billiards an important step in developing Yemeni sports and moving stagnation among students by activating cultural, sports and scientific activities.
Dr. Al-Dais stressed that universities are a major source and a source for discovering talents and creativity in various scientific, cultural and sports fields, noting the role of scientific competitions and sports championships held by the General Administration of Activities in the Higher Education Sector in consolidating the faith identity and moral values among university students.
In turn, the Director General of Activities in the Higher Education Sector, Abdul Karim Al-Dahhak, stressed that sports and scientific competitions contribute to linking the student to the ministry, universities and the country and enhance the authentic faith culture and identity, pointing out the importance of the championship in developing the physical, intellectual, psychological and social aspects of university students and contributing to providing various sports clubs with professional players.
Al-Dahhak reviewed the procedures and conditions of the sports championship, individual and collective in the amateur and professional categories, noting the interaction of the directors of activities in Yemeni universities and the participation of the arbitration committees from sports federations for their efforts in making the championship a success.
