The College of Medicine at the United Arab Emirates University organizes a scientific day to discuss graduation research for the sixth batch of human medicine students

The College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Emirates International University organized a scientific day for the students of the Department of Human Medicine, which included a presentation of the graduation research for the sixth batch, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Professor Dr. Saleh Al Dhaheri, the Vice Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sadiq Abdul-Mughni, Professor Dr. Abdul-Basit Al-Ghouri, Head of the Department of Medical Laboratories, Dr. Muammar Badi, Dr. Abeer Al-Washli, Dr. Noura Al-Awadhi, and a number of academics, administrators, students and parents.

 

The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Saleh Al Dhaheri, opened the scientific day by welcoming the attendees from the academics of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, academic and administrative staff and students, extending his thanks and appreciation to all the college staff, heads of medical departments and professors supervising the students' research, congratulating the students on holding the scientific day to discuss graduation research and the excellence of their research topics, stressing the importance of the research presented by the students. Wishing the graduates further progress in the scientific and practical aspects.

 

 He pointed out that the goal of the scientific day is to provide an opportunity for graduate students to present their ideas and cognitive touches that they acquired during their years of study, and to present their scientific research. 

 

The supervisory and discussion committees were formed from: Prof. Dr. Saleh Al-Dhahri, Dean of the College, Dr. Abdul-Basit Al-Ghouri, Head of the Medical Laboratories Department, Dr. Muammar Badi, Dr. Abeer Al-Washli, and Dr. Nora Al-Awadhi, external examiners and main supervisors of graduation research. 

 

The student groups presented their research that addressed health problems, diseases and epidemics, through visual presentations distributed over a number of important topics as follows: 

 

1. Group A presented its graduation research entitled: 

 

Prevalence and Associated Factors of Premenstrual Syndrome Among Secondary School Students in Ma’een District, Sana'a City 2024-1446 

 

The prevalence of factors associated with premenstrual syndrome among secondary school students in Ma’een District, Sana'a City. 

 

 The research was submitted by the students: Jihan Jalal Al-Maamari, Lina Abdullah Al-Jaid, Rosa Mustafa, Rahima Abdul Rahim Al-Qadi, Nouriya Muwaffaq Asani, Asmaa Mahdi Dabis, Asmaa Abdo Thabet Al-Jamal, Thanaa Abdul Hafeez Al-Shamiri, Umm Al-Rahman Abdullah Bajali, Nadia Al-Sanwi, Amal Al-Jaber, Amal Adnan, Zainab Adel Al-Salihi, Hindiya Yahya Atta, Ilham Mabrouk Masoud.

 

2. . Group B presented its research entitled:

 

Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of Medical Students Toward Premarital Screening at Emirates International University, Sana'a City - Yemen.

 

The research was submitted by the students: Sabreen Mohammed Al-Awami, Iman Mohammed Al-Sayaghi, Safaa Ali Ajaj, Shaza Jameel Al-Hadrami, Shaima Tariq Abdul-Jabbar, Kholoud Ali Al-Maqtari, Maria Mohammed Al-Shabasi, Iram Hamoud Al-Hudhaifi, Rawan Abdullah Shamsan, Huda Mahander Kumar, Hanin Ali Nahshal, Alaa Masawi Hajri.

 

 3. Group C presented its research entitled:

 

Prevalence of Sleep Disorder Among Medical Students and Its relation with Academic Performance in Al-Thawra Hospital Sana’a (2024)

The research was submitted by the students: Saif Faris Al-Qatami, Moataz Ali Salem Ali Al-Qabati, Osama Abdullah Salah Abbas, Nashwan Ali Muhammad Abdullah, Sareeh Muhammad Hadi Dabis, Khaled Al-Azzi Muhammad Najjar, Salim Hussein Muhammad Ali Al-Jaki, Abdulrahman Saleh Hussein Ghaleb, Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghanmi, Nader Hamoud Hussein Al-Hashidi, Bilal Abdulhakim Muhammad Al-Qudsi, Abdulkafi Yahya Naji Awadah, Hussam Hamid Ahmed Sari, Farhan Salem Jarady Ayza, Amjad Ahmed Hamoud Al-Durram, Muhammad Saleh Ahmed Al-Barai.

 

 4. Group D presented its research entitled:

5. Group E presented its research entitled:

 

Impact of Gender Heart Diseases among patients with Type 2 Diabetes: Prevalence and Associated Factors in Sana’a city, Yemen

 6. Group F presented its research entitled:

 

Knowledg, attitude and practices regarding infection control measures among clinical years medical students of Emirates International University

 

Knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding infection control measures among clinical years medical students at Emirates International University - Yemen 2024.

 

The research was submitted by the students: Khattab Abdul Qawi Abdul Aziz, Amjad Faisal Abdo Ali, Ibrahim Fayez Ali Ahmed, Safwan Mansour Ahmed, Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al-Azzi, Amr Adel Al-Qalous, Ahmed Ali Moasar, Majd Essam Ali Amer, Amr Muhammad Al-Mansoub, Moatasem Abdullah Darham, Muhammad Ahmed Al-Tawaf, Abdulaziz Naji Saleh Al-Najjar, Nasser Muhammad Al-Muntaser, Anis Muhammad Amer, Osama Badr Jamil, Ahmed Khaled Hazam.

 

The committee praised the efforts made by the students and their supervisors in completing their research on time and the scientific value of the research that rises to the level of postgraduate research.

 

The research summaries and the names of the student researchers will be published in separate publications later.
