In the opening speech of the symposium, the President of the University pointed out the importance of the occasion in remembering the greatness and giving of the martyrs and their sacrifices for the sake of God and defending the homeland and for the sake of victory for the issues of the nation.
The President of the University considered the anniversary of the martyr a station to renew the pledge, loyalty and devotion to the martyrs and the principles and values for which they sacrificed, stressing that caring for the families and relatives of the martyrs is everyone's responsibility.
For his part, cultural activist Abu Saleh Atef pointed out that the martyr's anniversary represents a station to promote the culture of martyrdom as the culture that protects homelands, religion, honor, and everything sacred, noting that the martyrs moved to please God and for His sake and out of a sense of responsibility towards their homeland and sacrificed their lives so that the people of the homeland could enjoy freedom, security, and dignity.
Abu Saleh considered martyrdom a culture that only the pious and honest with God carry, pointing out that one of the manifestations of loyalty to the martyrs is embodying their principles, following their example, and walking in their footsteps until victory is achieved.
He stressed that the culture of martyrdom is what protected Yemen from the forces of tyranny and global arrogance and its tools.. indicating that the martyrs are the ones who preserved Yemen and the dignity of its people and broke the back of the forces of hegemony.. pointing out that the enemy possesses two weapons "enticement and intimidation", and the martyrs broke that, and inflicted a crushing defeat on the enemy.
Atef said: Thanks to God and the sacrifices of the martyrs, we live in pride and dignity, unlike what normalizing societies live, and this is what we embody today in our standing by the Palestinian and Lebanese people until victory... pointing out that the annual anniversary of the martyr is a station from which the Yemeni people set out to bear the responsibility of sacrifice, redemption and giving.
Professor Abu Saleh Atef warned against wasting the blood and sacrifices of those who were martyred to lift injustice from Yemen and defend the land, honor and sovereignty.
The college also held a symposium on this occasion for the female cadre of academic and administrative employees and students.
